Plagiarism entails the theft of intellectual resources and property, or misuse of the same; giving inadequate citation of borrowed information is also considered plagiarism (Sunderland, 2004). This has led to the development of software packages to combat the same. Plagiarism has a detrimental impact on the quality of education as well as the value of originality an innovation. Plagiarism can be avoided if the students have a clear understanding of what plagiarism entails. This is because a student may be accused of plagiarism, while the real problem is that he/she doesn’t know how to cite her work. This creates gaps in the definition and determination of plagiarized work, and work that has been cited. As a result, the teachers/lecturers should ensure that students know how to cite their work. In addition penalties of plagiarism should be appropriately and timely administered to ensure that there is no complacency in the learning organizations.
Typing the key word memory gave me an access to articles on Memory & Cognition, Memory studies and Memory trauma treatment. I chose to use articles on Memory and Cognition, which led me to the online ProQuest PsycINFO page where I gave specifications of the date, year, volume, issue number and start page. I chose to have articles that had been done within the year 2012. It was apparent that in the learning process, individuals come across numerous facts about learning as well as a wealth of principles on how to make the best out of a learning process.
After looking at the relevance of the titles to human memory, I chose to read a journal on the basic principles of learning and memory. One of the things that came to my notice was that of retrieval failure that happens during exams, as well as the importance of studying in the environment where the exam will be taken. Epistemology, which refers to the study of how knowledge is acquired, looks into the nature-nurture complexity in human beings (Scott, 2009). It tries to look at the impacts of the environment by considering a situation where one had to grow with the social influence of fellow human beings. The question of morality and quality of life springs in such a scenario. Communication, eating habits and the development of a language which is predominantly influence by the community is an issue that attracts vast postulates. It is however clear that man has largely evolved in many ways including the language, and the methods of communication.
