1. Private employment agencies provide employees with specifications provided by the company to be employed full-time on rolls of the employing organization. They typically work for a one-time finding fee and their interest is limited to just that. Staffing agencies on the other hand employ people on their rolls, who are then deployed to serve at the employing organization. The engagement of these staffing firms is continuous and they typically are paid by the employing organization and they pay the employee deployed at various client locations.
2. A job preview is a method of recruitment wherein the recruiter offers all realistic expectations and aspects of a job position to a prospective employee, before the offer of an employment is rolled out. This allows the job applicant to realistically evaluate the offered position as well as match own capabilities and competence to the job requirement. This, in a way, would reduce short-term attrition in an organization.
3. Career management programs are one of the clever methods used by the modern day HR professionals to ensure intimate alignment of individual employee objectives and goals, with those of the organization. Such programs ideally create a deeper sense of engagement between the employer and the employee. When an organization is downsizing, it should identify those business areas that are no longer viable and look at targeting those employees whose career management goals are being impacted by such elimination. Ideally, it is these employees who must be offered a handshake and allowed to exit.
4. While most organizations claim to be equal opportunity employers, the practical reality is that most of these organizations continue to hold biases against women and minorities. Perceptions like employees of such categories are not suitable for certain job roles predominantly continue to negatively impact equal opportunity employment.
