Introduction
Religion is the backbone of any society that seeks goodwill and favor from a supreme being since divine provision remains to be the ultimate desire to all. Religion was advanced and got documented in the books of faith as the Bible and up to date, it adds life to many especially believers who got the faith. It is a field that has attracted a variety of schools of thoughts with the view to understanding the origin and the relevance of the Supreme Being.

Such has been the case with most of the social research scientists and scholars from various fields to examine the significance, role and facts about the existence of faith, the Supreme Being and life after death. The significance and role religion plays in the society is a point of concern too.

Another comes with the virtues that are laid in the books of faith. There are the existence of virtues that guide man and his relation to others. These are important since some human errors and misdeeds are not pronounced among people. Such has seen people live in harmony, in peace and even in mutual existence that is healthy in any social makeup and constitution. Virtues of love, peace and unity well and clearly addressed in most of the holy books are essential ingredients in responsible social wellbeing and presents the future in a more responsible manner. These virtues that guide human actions are a recipe for a more comfortable life and a life full of proper workmanship for the benefit of the present world alongside the posterity. (Merriman 102) Religion in this manner has been made to be a step ahead in ensuring humanity and the human race is in a mutual and a peaceful coexistence devoid of wars and fights that would only divide. Religion is a good element if championing peace, love and unity.

Religion has been an epitome of hope and future. Religion through its teachings has been on the forefront campaigning for the role of hope and the virtue of faith in fighting for social wellbeing. It has been clearly exemplified in most books of faith the role of hope and consistent workings that bear fruit and bring an ultimate joy to the human race. Up to now the significance of hope in any undertaking is still key as even many books and sayings as well as wisdom has it that hope is the last thing to lose in life. Hope as a Christian virtue has made the society have a heart of persistent and constant in search of ideals that are fruitful and are worth in the human domain. The virtue of hope as presented in most books of faiths and holy scripts has been used to pass a message of patience, consistence and persistent in searching. It has played a key role in most of the successes witnessed in the human race.

Last but not least religion has also tried to shun violence and bad deeds are making the world live in peace and love. Religion through the existence of eternal fire in hell and happy moments in the eternal kingdom of God and heaven has been able to make the human race fear. (Hedstrom 29) The fear has made most people shun evil deeds and obey the golden rule of life of being good to another irrespective of different affiliations. Such fear as also seen the existence of humanity in ever trying to show kindness and helping others especially the less fortunate for a promise of heaven and for fear of burning in hell. The fear has also seen the development of brotherhood among people, and this has bred making a neighbor’s keeper from some of the biblical teachings like the parable of the Good Samaritan documented in the gospel. Religion has seen many live harmoniously with a view of going to heaven.

Then lastly, religion has seen the emergence of different schools of thought beneficial to the human race. Such schools of thoughts have made the existence of God be understood to some extent, and it has also helped increase knowledge about God since most. Some of the elements of the supernatural being have been documented in most schools of thoughts that have made the human mind sharper than it was before. (Jones, Georgina and Graham 88) The sharpness coming from the different points of view from various critics and ideas. It has also expanded the learning scope of most people in the field of philosophy, theology and religious history alongside those in the seminaries and even in convents. Such a knowledge diverged from different sources has helped man to have a rough idea of what theology is all about and how it is exemplified. Religion has been very instrumental in sharpening the social thinking and the level of reasoning.
