IMPACT OF HRM
The human resource system has five components which include training, recruiting, labor relations, performance appraisal, and payments and benefits. In our organization I would like to improve on the training and development component as when this component is efficient it ensures that the company has a competitive advantage in the market.
I would do this by ensuring that the training offered by the company builds an employee to achieve their career goals. I would then integrate these career goals with the company’s goals to ensure that the employees achieve the two set of goals simultaneously. Since most employees have working in a big company as one of their career goals, I would motivate them to focus on improving the company which would consequently lead to their achieving this career goal. For example, I would train the employees on what it takes to be leading executives in the wedding and event planning profession market. By giving them this knowledge, the employees would consequently integrate it in their work for our company, LaMosleys Restaurant Event and Planning Center. Also, I would train the employees on the significance of maintaining a good code of ethical conduct in their operations. This will help them become respectable professionals while at the same time will ensure that the company’s operations are done ethically.
Training and development is a ‘win-win’ situation both for the company and the employees. However most employees and human resource managers do not take note of this and hence why the former feels exploited while the latter feels as if it is an unnecessary cost. I will seek to change this perception in our company and make training and development a fundamental aspect of the human resource department.
