Purpose of the Plan
The purpose of the training is to equip the community workers with communication and negotiation skills. It will provide an opportunity for behavior change in order to improve the health status in the society. The training aims at providing adequate information to health workers on the best practices to be employed while administering their services to the community. The trainers in this case will be already equipped with knowledge on the best practices on health information service management to the community.
Design
The implementation plan recommends that the program will run for 6 months starting from 10th July to 1st December. As a result of inadequate classrooms, the groups will be divided into three:
Clinical staff (350),
Physicians (60)
Non-clinical staff (90)
The three groups will be trained in their classes by trained trainers where the clinical staff will be divided into five groups and each group will be taught for 6 hours once a week, and will need five trainers. The physicians will be divided into two groups and each group will be taught twice a week each day taking 2 hours. The non-clinical staff will be trained on one hour-basis in two groups thrice a week.
Plan of Implementation
(1).
Conduct a training requirement evaluation for data providers and data users which in this case are health workers. A different training evaluation should be done for each category of health workers.
(2).
Developing a curriculum for each kind of training as reflected in the needs evaluation part. It covers the target group, the approach, duration, and content of each training. The duration refers to the time the program takes and the time scheduled for each topic included in the training.
(3).
Developing the relevant training materials:
Type of training
Training materials
contents
Training for data providers
Data dictionary
Manual for data providers( develop manual for each group)
Directions on how to enter data
List of formulas, Indicators, data sources ,and indicators
Training for data users
Manual for data users (different manual for each group)
Data analysis, utilization and interpretation
Training for computers experts
Computer software manual
Information and examples on how to the software; troubleshooting
Training for trainers
Trainers of trainers
Instructions on how to execute the training program for data providers and data users: teaching guidelines; testing policies on the use of manual for Data users and manual for Data providers
(4).
Reproducing the training resources. This is because there is a probability of changing the format, structure and the content of the resources.
(5).
Formulating the assessment design for the training plan. This should be done before the training session, since most assessment designs need the collection of baseline level of knowledge.
(6).
Identifying the most appropriate trainees for each group and allocating each according to the roles and responsibilities in data generation and management. The best and efficient approach ensures that training starts with the principal staff members who will train the other junior staff members.
(8).
Conduct training for the individuals who will be offering the data or data providers.
(9).
Training of the individuals who will be handling data. This is normally done after adequate data from Health Management and Information Systems (HMIS) has been gathered for use of examples in the training session.
(10).
The assessment of the training program, which includes training resources used.
