Inductive Bible Study
The Inductive Bible Study is the way one reads, understands, interprets and applies the message in the bible. There are two types of reading and interpretation of the Bible; these are the reader response, and the authorial intent. The reader’s response determines the meaning of the Bible; this can be a single reader or a community of readers. It means that since each reader will understand the bible or the text in his own way, interpret it and apply it according to the way he understands it. That indicates that the bible interpretation has different meanings, which may be positive or negative (Bauer, 2011).
On the other hand, the authorial intent is the writer who directs the meaning to the reader. He states what message that he wants to communicate to the audience or reader. It can be with syntax, grammar; the meanings of the words come out clearly. In this case, the main difference between the two is that one takes the trouble of interpreting the meaning to the other while the authoritarian takes the responsibility to pass the message to the reader in simple terms that can make him to understand the intended message
The Role of the Holy Spirit
The holy spirits to help an individual to dwell in the Christ, the Holy Spirit helps people to be like Jesus and live in the ways of the lord. From the story, the one with the two PhDs was just a response reader whose intention was to acquire knowledge about the bible and interpret it in his own way then preaches the gospel to the people. While the wife of a professor who had just mastered in the biblical studies and her daughter was saved meaning, she proclaimed the name of Jesus as the savior and was ready to follow Jesus. The Holy Spirit guides us in the right direction. Therefore, according to John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”(John 3:16) The man with two PhDs does not believe in following Jesus since he does not claim his word, but he believes that Jesus died and resurrected. However, the daughter of the professor's wife knows that she has to live with Jesus so that she cannot perish that is why she decided to follow Jesus (Arthur, 2008).
According to the Psalms, when Nathan committed adultery with Bathsheba, he was asked to confess the sins to receive forgiveness. The Psalm of David asks God to have mercy on him, according to his unfailing love, he asks God to take away his sins and cleanse him. He confesses the way he was a sinful person even before his birth. The Lord says that the one who admits and confesses receives forgiveness, while the one who keeps it in the heart keeps haunting him. It shows that when a person steals from the neighbor and feels he should receive the forgiveness, as well as he must accept the crime as he confesses the crime so that his heart is set free. Even when on earth he is not forgiven. In heaven, there is the removal of the sin and the cleansing of the heart KJV, Psalm 51:1-10.
