What is music and worship
Music and worship according to Christianity is a form of prayer and thanks giving to God. Music is a form of how Christians reach God, a way of expressing thanks or prayers. The book of Psalms in the bible is a great example of how music is used to talk to God. Music was as a form of inviting God to bless ceremonies from the Biblical times. Music and worship has enormous power to engage the Christian community emotions and praise to God through music.

Music is an everyday aspect of every one’s life. Either in the secular or religious connotations. When we are walking home from school or driving from work, having a work out in the morning or even enjoying spending time with friends, we always find music to be very important aspect of such activities. Music helps create a connection on emotional levels and in Christianity music helps evangelize to people of all walks of life. People who may even not know who God is.

During the time that follows, I will present facts and biblical concepts on the importance of music and worship in the whole process of evangelism. I will discuss how music has been used seen the ancient time to communicate with God and the importance of the emotional connection it creates. I’ll talk about how great it feels using music and worship to reach to the communities that do not understand the scriptures.

Main point I:
The bible indicates in the book of Psalms that in all times the faithful of God whether in torment or rejoice, in joy or sorrow, in praise or in lamentation will always raise and praise the Lord.
Jesus and his disciples also practiced hymns singing (Matthew 26:30). The apostle Paul in the bible is seen instructing the Colossians to dwell in the Lord and let their hearts be filled with gratitude of the songs, psalms and worship of the lord. (Psalms 98:4) asks faithfuls to make joyful noise unto the Lord.
Music extends the spoken word in many instance it offers the expressions of mood and the feeling of the Soul. Music can help lift one spirit and help Christians restore faith and hope in God the creator of universe.

The bible is made of music from music from the beginning to the end. Fromm the book of Genesis the first musician is revealed, Jubal we learn that his father and him used to play harp and the flute (Genesis 4:21).
As we progress through the pages we come to find another musical inspiration in Moses. Moses is shown as having song songs of praise and worship after the Exodus, Deborah sang after they won against Sisera, King David wrote the songs in the book of Psalms, Paul and Silas sang and worshipped the Lord with music when they were incarcerated. The book of Revelation talks about the singing in heaven. As we can see Music and worship have been a form of communicate with God a form of prayers that Christians offer to God through melodies.
Main point III:
Music and worship has always been an important part of the Christian ministry. The earliest churches also recognized the importance of music and worship in the delivery of the Christian message to all those who do not know God and would want to.
They wrote the hymns of the heart which are sang across the world in school and churches and gathering point. When people sing they is the emotional feeling of divinity and wanting to be what the message of the song is.
For instance, in most Pentecostal churches after delivery powerful sermons the clergy or the reverend ask for the worship team or the choir to lead in a worship tune. When this worship music is singing and among the crowd attending the service there is someone who needs to be saved to accept his/her Jesus as Lord and savior, they are normally pushed by the emotions brought by the music.
Main point III:
Music and worship has the following values
it has power; throughout the Bible great has been shown to be the greatest gift mankind have from the almighty. It is can be used to elevate the soul, up lift the mind and thought to nobility.
It is a weapon against the feeling of Discouragement. Music and worship are major forms of fighting the feeling of being discouraged.
Music is used to express the spiritual truth in our hearts
Conclusion
As I have demonstrated through various Biblical readings and references music and worship have been the earliest and still are the most common forms of exalting God. What greater than to express the feeling our hearts, to evangelize the gospel of the almighty than to sing songs of praise and worship the Maker. Music and worship are great tools of evangelism and as such should be used to reach out to the four corners of the earth as the scriptures say in the book of revelation. Musical concerts and extravaganzas can be arranged to spread the gospel.
