Discuss the go-vote idea as a causal loop and what other elements/factors you would add to the loop to make the service a success?
The GoVote project is an initiative that focuses on providing uninformed voters with unbiased information to inform their decision when selecting potential candidates. GoVote involves a website platform that proves to be the easiest way of controlling the information of the involved candidates without being biased.
GoVote’s main idea is to give is to give voters credible information so that they can make choices on their own without prejudiced media persuasion. Biased information would, without a doubt, stray voters from making their intended decisions or make them not to participate in the voting process altogether, thus compromising on their voting power.
Religion and cultural beliefs of an individual play a big part in their decision-making process, and it directly affects the impression they would have for a certain candidate. Therefore, when voters receive prejudiced information about candidates, they would end up giving votes to candidates who do not deserve them. These two factors play a centered role on moral development, therefore, affecting the way individuals think over time (Coleman & Wilkins, 512). For this reason, the unbiased information voters pick from the environment and from people whom they share similar faith and culture with, will influence their decisions. When voters make inappropriate decisions on which candidate they would vote, it indirectly affects their choice to vote or not to vote, since the unbiased information they would have received would be in line with their moral standards (Donno, 703).
What is the role of information in the GoVote design project especially regarding the understanding and experimentation phases and the cybernetics model for the GoVote service?
Information that will appear on GoVote’s website needs to be concise. For this reason, every data regarding every candidate will be conclusive to gain the trust of users who will visit the website. GoVotes will incorporate video extracts to back up with facts from trusted sources to make sure that the website provides credible and unbiased information of candidates. GoVotes will provide US residents with information especially on the campaign of the presidential candidates in the country to increase the number of individuals who will participate in the next election with the proper knowledge. GoVotes will make sure it gives a continuing flow of unbiased information to Americans so that they can always have news as they happen. However, GoVotes needs to keep users engaged and always going online to get the latest news; thus, the website will incorporate a simple and a refined design that will make it easy for users to navigate through tabs and keep them engaged.
GoVote’s website will increase the number of young people who will take their time to exercise their voting power, by keeping up with the latest web designs to staying competitive in this technological dynamic age. GoVote will also make sure it has a feature that will gather the feedback of users so that they can always satisfy their needs as they arise. GoVote will incorporate the social media platforms to reach more people and try to eliminate the instances that voters get to rely on unbiased information that will affect their voting patterns.
The environment around voters is very important for this reason, the GoVote’s website will base its research on what is happening on the ground, and if some information is not included, the website will create a link that delivers users to where they can find data that is trustworthy and reliable. GoVote’s website aims to provide a self-service platform to the users, which will cost nothing to acquire information, for this reason, users can get information wherever they are without facing challenges.
Videos go a long way in informing the masses. Video are enticing thus can quickly grab the attention of the target group. Furthermore, increasing tariff is convenient with internet marketing. This would increase the client reached by the campaign. GoVote’s website will include videos of presidential campaigns, debates, interviews and other electoral visual events that are going to help the American citizens in knowing what is going on, in the country and decide on which candidate they would stand with, without being influenced by unprejudiced information from other media platforms.
