RE: POSSIBLE CHANGE FOR SAVING MONEY
Our company has been a leading firm in the selling of World-class trainer equipment. One of the areas where the equipment sells is in the trade shows. The company has enjoyed the success for a considerable amount of time, but the only challenge is that we have not focused on venturing to get new shows. For maximum success to be got there is the need to ensure we maintain the current trade shows and move on to cover new areas that have potential.
The main aim of the company has been to reduce costs and still expect to increase sales, which is hard to gain. The company has been involving very few staffs in the shows, who cannot capture the available market. The cost reduction method may prove difficult because the airfare and hotel costs are ever rocketing; hence, the firm should get alternative ways to cut on cost and not on the trade shows since they are profitable. The current focus is on the Las Vegas show in September, which is a major event. If the company allows good attendance in the show, there will be gains because our brand will be promoted in a worldwide event.
We should focus on how to make the trade show attendance smooth and not limiting them. There are better ways to minimize the costs without having to limit the shows attended. One way to save costs is by altering our gift pack. We have been giving our booth-visitors a nine-color shirt, which is gorgeous and silk-screened. The T-shirt is designed by top designers and each comes at a cost of $23. As a way of saving money, I propose we go for a presentable $6 T-shirt from China. It will have our name and logo on it for marketing, and, by the way, most people use the shirts when working-out and some of them may not care the fanciness. In our large shows we dish out around 2,000 T-shirts; replacing the designer T-shirt with a cheaper quality will save a lot of money. I have availed the sample T-shirt and if it is acceptable, we will need to act quickly because the show is almost here.
I believe if the recommendations are followed we will reduce the operational costs without having to cut on the number of trade shows attended.
Thank you
