Integration Of Intelligence And Character Critical Thinking Example

As boys grow up into men, they go through some changes in their bodies that make them to develop some weird feelings. This happened in one of the terms in school where I developed an attraction for a girl that was slightly older than me in age. The girl happened to be one of the school captains, which gave me a chance to interact with her frequently just to be noticed. I am the only one who understood what a felt towards her yet she only looked at me as a naive yet disciplined boy. I was particularly excited when she praised me in front of others and credited me for the dedication I had in reporting any wrong. I made work easier for her by reporting any misconduct in other pupils.
It however disturbed me that even though I got the attention and credit I needed from my crush, she did not understand how I felt towards her and simply looked at it as an act of discipline. I thought a could do something more which will probably give me a chance to express my feelings towards her. At least I knew I had her attention as I would approach her anytime with an issue and she would attend to me. I decided to take the relationship to a much higher level. With the knowledge that I was the man and therefore had to take the initiative, I looked for clever ways to have a more personalized attention with her. Since she was at a higher grade, I thought using books and requesting for her assistance in class work would do the trick.
I was off with my plan and before I knew it, I was able to interact with her on a more personalized level as she helped me revise for my class work. She was quite an intelligent girl yet I was just an average student. The girl being disciplined and principled, it still never clicked into her mind that I had a crush on her. She was still looking at me as a younger brother and did everything to support me in my class work. Well, this hurt me a little bit but what gave me hope was the fact that I had most of her time and she would never put me off unless it was very necessary. Even when she dint have time for me, she would schedule me for another time and ensure that she helped me.
Well, weeks past, and so were months waiting for a perfect time to open up my heart to my crush. During this period, I had to show a lot of diligence in my class work just to prove to her that her efforts were not in vain. I had to do more research and studies just to ensure I had a valid reason to meet her for assistance. My performance greatly improved during this time, which even motivated her further to assist me. Well, for sure, the seriousness that she had when dealing with me, and the purity of heart that accompanied her actions, made me never to open up my heart to her. I was afraid that it would affect our relationship that had grown and yielded positive results in my academic work. I would not want to tell her something that will immediately change her attitude towards me. Well, even though the relationship was selfish on my side, it ultimately yielded positive results in my academics.
