Introduction
Interdisciplinary perspective is an approach that entails a comprehensive analysis of more than one social or economic discipline. The involved parties exercise the virtues of impartiality by connecting the influence of one discipline to the other. In most cases, interdisciplinary approach are associated with education disciplines where two or more subjects are interlinked to assess how they impact a certain aspect of life. Interdisciplinary approach facilitates the naivety of crossing of the boundaries with an objective to resolve contention between two or more social aspects.
The speaker highlighted the theme of the discussion on system boundaries and the borders that exist both in the art and science perspective. The discussion aimed at traversing from the scientific aspect of the system boundaries to their influence in the humanity perspective. The main objective of the interdisciplinary perspective is to show the interaction and interrelation of two or more aspects towards achieving a certain objective. Occasionally, an interdisciplinary approach starts by stating the distinctive inferences that stand out between the respective disciplines. Additionally, the weakest loopholes are indicated during the discourse thus allowing for an open and unbiased interaction among the strategists of concerned parties. For instance, the speaker was quick to point out that there are real and imaginary boundaries. In this case, real boundaries were inclined to the science aspect that mostly defended itself with real statistics from research and experiments. On the other hand, imaginary boundaries survive on theoretical inferences that have been analyzed and supported by other experts. Moreover, the speaker noted that the two disciplines were semi-permeable, meaning that they were subject to influence from external factors.
In an interdisciplinary discussion, propositions from different disciplines are assumed to be axiomatic until its boundaries are penetrated through interaction of related disciplines to deliver a comprehensive inference. Therefore, interdisciplinary approach is a transition from an axiomatic status to deductions that are backed by both theoretical and practical results. For example, the speech revealed the interaction between land and sea and the backing of the science through research, experiments and past studies by experts. Culture was the dominating human aspects that detailed how and why land and sea are the way they are today. The benchmark for an interdisciplinary approach is past research and theoretical axioms. This builds the semi-permeable boundaries between land and sea. The speaker used charts and pictures that showed the study of the formation of mud at Vancouver Island. This is the basis for the creation of boundaries the scientific and the theoretical aspects of land and sea formation.
History of different disciplines forms the basis for theoretical research whose borders can only be dissolved through scientific statistics. For instance, the earth crust indicated that the water in the sea enabled the visibility of different layers. However, the indication of interaction of land and sea was vague and semi-permeable until researchers ventured in studying the boundaries of land and sea. Moreover, the research revealed that rocks were formed due to overlapping of layers. Interdisciplinary evaluation through theoretical and scientific research leads to penetration of other social aspects that define the cultural aspects of how and why different things function and relate the way they do. For instance, the discovery of the edged stone that was due to the scientific structural formation of rocks was revealed the cultural behaviors of farming and hunting by people. This indicated the intertwining of science and art boundaries in the permeability of science and theoretical deductions. As a result, the inferences revealed the defense of cultural diversity through research and experiments. Similarly, the scientific experiments of mud samples resulted in real statistics that supported the theoretic inferences.
Personal experience from attending seminars and discussions
Attending the seminars and events evoked a personal assessment on my view that different aspects of life acted and survived independently in life. However, the notion has changed and instead instilled a sense of sequential interrelationship of different social and academic disciplines. For example, the theoretical deduction that science was art and art was science was manifested in the recent seminar by George Mobusat when he indicated that the scientific formation of rocks through overlapping of layers was the precursor of the cultural behavior of people.
In addition, the discourse enlightened my stance that no theoretical, empirical or scientific deductions were impermeable. Instead, the boundaries were often penetrated by inferences from other interrelating aspects and thus made the final inference strong and impeccable. Moreover, I learned that it was imperative to shed off the axiomatic notion that history was always true but instead substantiate it through research and experiments. In conclusion, the deliberative discussions were a proof that innovation emanates from denouncing historic boundaries and investing time and resources to update the theory with current statistics.
Recommendation of interdisciplinary topic
The interdisciplinary topic that I would recommend is “Political science and economic perspective in the world”. Politics serves as the backbone of the economic stability of any nation. However, several social aspects directly or indirectly influence the political trend and thus affect the economic stability of the nation. The research of the interaction of the two disciplines that are often assumed to be independent will reveal the permeability of the two boundaries and their impact to the countries and the world. The topic would be relevant especially to the students who little information about the world politics and how they have shaped the current world economic status. The theoretical assessment and interlinking with current political and economic situations will substantiate the interdependence of the two perspectives.
