God loved his creation that he gave his begotten son for those who trust in him would have the favor of God and would enjoy eternal life (John 3:16). In this scripture, John refers to Jesus as the one and only son of God who came to earth to deliver humankind from the bondage of sins. Jesus is the only son of God; he connected us to his father (GOD). The powers of the Holy Spirit inspire the birth of Jesus Christ hence revealing present of a supreme being God. Therefore, vividly showing that he is the true son of God and for one to go to heaven/father has to go through him. Jesus is the son of God who came to earth to save the people from their sins. As the only son of God, he was crucified for the sake of saving the world for their sin. The Muslims disagree with the argument of Jesus being the only son of God arguing that the term “only son of God” was used metaphorically. In a personal point of view, Jesus is really the only son of God whose purpose on earth was to deliver people from their sins. It also prudent to argue that Jesus may not be the only son of God since in several accounts in the bible (John 10:30) people have used the term son of s god to reveal their relationship with God. This attribute set Jesus apart from other ancient prophets. That is, he had an extraordinary background that supports the fact that he is a true son of God. In another perspective, Jesus is the only son of God due to his uniqueness. In this context, the term “only son” is a monogene word meaning that Jesus has always been the son of God but did not become the son of God. It therefore implies that he is not the one and only son of the almighty God. On the other hand, he is entitled as a son with uniqueness as compared to the rest of the people in the divinity.
Jesus Christ is a unique term which is an analogy describing the true character of Christ in relation to God the father. The title of being the only son of God is seen by the way he performed marvelous miracles, for being humble in all his activities; he conducted himself positively during all his ways of glorifying God. In the book of John, it goes further to acknowledge Jesus as the one and only son of the highest God (John 1:14). John stated that the glory of the Jesus is being evident in his actions and he is the only son who was sent from the father (God) and he is full of truth and grace.
According to John1:18, it outlines the role played by Jesus on earth in terms of showing the world the true character of God. That is, nobody has ever had the chance to see God but through his only son (Jesus), everyone is in a good position to see God. Based on 1st John 4:9 and John 3:18, Jesus is claimed as the only son of God whose role on earth is to reunite or re-establish the previous relationship between God and the human being before they ate the forbidden fruit in the creation story. The New Testament scripture shows that Jesus is the only son of God and nobody go to the Father except through him. It thus implies that being the only son of God he is given the powers to act as the way to heaven.
In the book of john, Jesus proclaimed to be the way and the life. It further expounded on the fact that nobody would go his father (God) except through him. He urges people to live righteous lives for the kingdom of his father (God) is theirs. Jesus mission on earth was totally a hard task for him but due to the love of God to the people he went ahead to accomplish the purpose of God to his people. In a general perspective, Jesus’ life experience shows that he was a leader. That is, he comes to earth to show Christians or human kind what is required of them in order to enter the kingdom of God
During his teaching to the disciple and the gathered people, Jesus reclaims himself as the one only son of God. Though the some people knew him as the biological son of Mary and Joseph his good work and marvelous miracle reveal that he was the real son of God. During one of his teachings to his disciples, he asked if they really knew who he was and in response, some of them said that he was the prophesied prophet and other recognized him as the true son of God. He demanded them not to tell no one of his identity since a leader is accepted in his own land.
Jesus Christ is truly the son of God as evident in the scriptures referring him as the only son of God. Jesus went through a lot of challenges because he is the only son of God. For instance, the devils tempt him to denounce his faith to the only God on his forty days of fasting. During his temptation, we can see that Jesus is the real son of God since the third temptation; the devil asked him if he is really the son of God to jump from the top because his father (God) would send down angels to protect him from any harm. The argument is based on the fact that Jesus was a totally different religious leader while on earth. He explain to people his relationship with God as that of son and father and whoever believes in him or his teacher is also the son of God.
In 1st Corinthians 15:28 it states that when an individual dedicates all his or her needs and wants to the son of God then Jesus himself would be subject to the person so that God’s way to reveal himself through the situation. This therefore gives Jesus the intermediary role between human being and God. This supports the argument that all people that goes to the father have to go through Jesus. Jesus bridges the gap between the heaven (God) and the earth (human kind).
Psalms 2:7 emphases or expound more on the connection between God and Jesus. The author of the books starts by outlining the words of God to his son Jesus. The lord told his son that it is high time he should know the decree of his nature and that he is his son “You are My Son, Today I have begotten you.” God addresses Jesus as his only son and he uses him to show the world his love to the welfare of human being that he offered his only son to shed blood on the cross for the cleansing of their sins. Jesus’ death on cross, simplified that God had to offer a very previous person to save the world. In other words, he sacrificed hi begotten son to be crucified so as to show love to humankind and bring deliverance from their sins.
Jesus started his mission at a tender age of 12 years when his parents went with him to participate in a ceremony held in the temple. His parents lost contact with him and he decided to join a council of Jewish to share the teachings of the bible. In this event, he challenged the elders with tough and critical religious questions and answers proving that he was not an ordinary boy but the only son of God. When his biological parents got him in the temple and questioned as to why he made them get worried. In response, he told them that he is obliged to do his father’s job thus confirming his identity as the only son of God.
The ministry of Jesus clearly indicates that he is the only son of God. It simply means that he had the power to perform miracles as granted to him by God. During his teaching, he occasionally refers to his father. In Matthew 17:5, it highlights one of the events Jesus was identified as the son of God. That is, during the occasion when Jesus was speaking to the people, they were overshadowed by a bright cloud and a voice was heard saying that Jesus is the beloved son of God and people should listen to his teaching.“This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to him.” God himself declared that Jesus was his beloved and in another similar occasion during his baptism in the river, Jordan by John the sky open and the same voice was heard proclaiming Jesus as the son of God.
Jesus urged the people to follow the scriptures and should portray it by living righteous lives, which pleases God. In John 5:19 Jesus answered the gathering saying that as the son of God he can only do things that his father do. It implies during his stay on earth he was able to live and perform his work as per the will of his father (God) and nothing could be done about it. He even at the time in his life felt that the burden of going through the process of dying and resurrecting on the third day was a big task for therefore seek his father in heaven to the relive the “cup” before him. Jesus claims to be the son of God when he went to a temple and found people carrying trade. He whipped them and told them his father’s house cannot be turned into a market place terming as a sacred for praising and worshipping God.
Jesus claimed to the son of god when the Jew realized that he has broken the law governing the Sabbath they therefore sought to kill him. Jesus responded using a parable asking if a person would leave a sick cow to die just because he or she is not entitled to any duties on a Sabbath day. He said that as a son of god he would spread the word of his father regards of the day or time. Jesus was a powerful Christian leader, lord, and savior of human kind from the bondage of sins. In the Gospel of John he states that Jesus is the main purpose he still alive showing that Jesus was destined to come to earth as a son of god hence people should adhere to his teach because he is the only way to the father (God). During his ministry at different occasion the demons recognized him as the son of God pleaded with not to harm them.
In the book of Luke 8:28 Jesus came across a man possessed with demons. The demons recognized Jesus as the son of the most high a seek him not to torment them. Jesus stands as a unique person since he had the power from his father. He was given power over nature, illness and even death to show the people that he is the only true God and they should seek his mercies and bless by living righteous lives in accordance with the scriptures. It proved to the people that his is true the only son of the father through his extraordinary action on earth and the entire ministry serve as evident too this argument. He even quoted that God is his father in his teaching to the people. For instance, he warns the Jewish and the entire would that those who would see the kingdom of God are only possible through him. In the bible scripture, it is recorded that after he ascended to heaven, he is seated next to his father on the left hand side.
