JetBlue is an airline company which is good at building long-term customer relationships. The staff take into account their customers’ needs: more legroom when flying coach, the LCD entertainment system embedded in each seat, free beverages and snacks on board, and facilities to use email and messaging services in the air. Moreover, the company offers other services which customers want: reserving ‘Even More Legroom’ seats for extra $10 and watching a movie or television show for another $6 on board; high-ending dining, retail stores with a wide selection of goods, and lounge areas for adults and children in the terminal. These services reflect customers’ demands so the company prioritizes customer well-being. The practices allow JetBlue to rival with other airlines and see how satisfied their customers are with flying.
JetBlue creates the value of an excellent customer-service reputation so customers are attracted by the airline’s facilities. The slogan ‘Happy Jetting’ works very well due to the features which delight customers’ needs, wants, and demands. Additionally, resolving the issue of security makes the company valuable to its customers. For instance, more security lanes at the airport and delivering customer care in the air contribute to effectiveness of the outstanding service. Additionally, hiring staff who work from home indicates a home-like atmosphere ingrained in the company’s culture. The S.O.C.I.A.L currency program embodies their values across all the company’s activities.
I support my friend’s view that in a couple of years the company will go on building good customer relationships due to their constant reviewing of customers’ needs. However, other competitors replicating the range of services can dent JetBlue’s reputation. Of course, copying the company culture is no easy matter but rivals can develop a better image of their own company so that it will be more appealing to customers.
