Having completed the cover letter for Jim, now consider this more global question about your own cover letter. How might you take the information you gathered about yourself in your cover letter? What do you want a potential employer to know about you, besides the obvious work and educational experiences?
The foremost significant thing that I will gather is the information related to my professional experience and academic qualification, which relates to the advertised position. If I apply for any position, I will ideally want the employer to know that my experience and skills are much related to the kind of candidate the company requires. Once the reviewer of my cover letter will develop a perception of my relatedness with the job, I will then persuade him/her that I am better than the candidates he/she is reviewing. This task will be done through showing my previous and current achievements, which can be both professional and academic.
