Discussion
In order to select the right strategy for employee training, the discussion of the findings can deliver substantial information suitable for the completion of the research paper.
Point A: Necessity of a training program
In response to the first question, it can be seen that out of the 29 respondents, 55.2 percent aged between 18 and 22. For the second question of engaging in the job training, 65.5 percent has answered on a positive note. Therefore, it seems like, there is scope for a training program to improve the performance of the employees. The fifth question is somewhat interesting as it was asked whether training was recommended for students to get a job at the position. Out of the 28 respondents, 28.6 percent, and 42.9 percent have voted strongly agree and agree respectively.
Training is an essential factor to improve the skills and knowledge of the employees. Several researchers have said that training is required mostly for new recruitments (Menezes & Vieira, 2008). Training is most required for students to get a job at a particular position. Training helps to understand the roles and duties of a position. Hence, training is a part of job that makes an individual appropriate for the job.
Understandably, it can be seen that most of the new recruits and inexperience of the employees are out there that needs proper job training. Considering the response, most of the candidates believe that it is important to get training before the job. Therefore, job training must be mandatory to assign a candidate to the right job position according to the academic qualification and skills. The response observed through the survey states that most of the individuals think that training is necessary for their personal skills development. They must understand the job before starting to work at a particular position.
Point B: How beneficial is the training program
Meanwhile, the fourth question has been asked whether the training program is associated to the graduation major of the employees. The answer is quite natural as out of the 27 respondents, 81.4 percent have agreed that the job training will be given to them is relevant to their graduation major. When respondents were asked how useful the training programs are for the job, out of 27 responses, 92% agreed with the statement.
Training is required to develop personal skills. It is a short term program that is oriented to develop the skills of the individuals for a particular job. Hence, it is an essential element that is required to make an individual suitable for the job. Without proper training, a person cannot start working at a position (Walsh, 2008). Though the training programs are associated with the graduation majors, there is a need to attain them to recall your learning. It helps to apply your learning in practical life (Katsimi, 2008). Training is beneficial for the organizations because it helps to improve the productivity and performance of the workforce.
Other than the teachings of the graduation majors, some other essential training facilities must be developed to get something extra from the employees. It is natural to select training programs according to the graduation major. At the same point in time, in a workplace situation, developing communication skill and other knowledge resources and work techniques can be built up during workplace training facilities that have different sort of processes attached to the system. Hence, a training program always provides with different benefits if implemented in a proper manner.
Point C: How to improve the job training program
If we look at the third question, the number of respondents is 24. Out of the number 70.8 respondents have voted for a three-month based training program. Recognizing that, a three month based training program can be considered as a standard period to influence the employee performance. When it was asked that how long an individual must get engaged in a training program, it was found that out of 29 responses, 58.6% participants opt for a 3 months training program. When they were asked what addition is required to improve job training, 8 different responses was observed. Some said nothing is needed while other said that there is a need to make it modern, addition of practical applications, full knowledge of work environment, time management, paid training period and many more.
There is a need to implement different modern techniques to improve the training program. Some of the researchers said that a training program must use practical applications and provide knowledge of the work environment to improve the skills of the new employees (Avent, 2005). The employees must be provided with an opportunity to learn while working. It helps them to achieve practical knowledge of the work.
Herein, the questions can identify that out of the 29 respondents; it is imperative to put emphasis on a three-month basis training program so that the employees’ knowledge and resources of skills can be developed efficiently. Realizing the inexperience of the human resources, the delivery of the training program can become more vital in this regard. Several new technologies must be implemented with practical on-the-job training facilities to improve the skills and knowledge of the employees.
