Dear Sir,
RE: APPLICATION FOR INTERNSHIP IN YOUR DEPARTMENT
I am John Warden of Identity Card number 27663235, a male of 23 years of age. I graduated on December 2nd 2013 with a Bachelors degree in Science in Civil Engineering 2nd class upper division from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. My career goals is to become a project construction manager, work in large projects where real problems or challenges show up and then give them solutions.
I learned of your companies wide base of experience from a friend who has worked with you and who recommended your company as the best place I can have my internship. I am a self-motivated, social and open person ready to learn hands on work related skills and also benefit from the several years of experience which will greatly help me in advancing my career and becoming a better engineer as well as helping me move steps closer to realizing my dreams. I am currently a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) student chapter. Through the organization, I have had the privilege of: attending meetings with professional speakers; visiting major civil engineering projects, and participating in workshops and conferences for civil engineering students.
I am writing to apply for internship at your department. I believe working in your department will expose me to a lot of real life engineering practice that will help increase my skills and work experience base that will greatly help me in achieving my career goals I am ready to go an extra mile in the responsibilities that I may get assigned and will devote myself to working according to your philosophy. I will be grateful if considered for the chance.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
John Warden.
