Sports journalists are now making more use of the social media so that their writings and views can reach to a large number of people because nowadays people are considering the social media for getting the information (Andrews). Social media is helping journalist in building their personal brands and becoming expert on the sports, teams, and players they cover (Lichterman). The social media is also providing chance to sports journalists, to interact with people in an effective manner. Andy Glockner, Bomani Jones, Andy Katz, Rachel Nichols, Sage Steele, Grant Wahl, and Adrian Wojnarowski are the names of some sports journalists.

These sports journalists are publishing the contents containing the performance of the players in the respective sports, and are also giving suggestions for improvement in the performance. They are publishing their views regarding sport and performance of every player in the sports activities. Moreover, they write contents containing future predictions regarding sports. They also ask several questions on the social media regarding performance of players and different sports activities so that they can analyze and get an idea about what people think about particular player and other sports-related topics.
However, these support journalists also write about the social, economic, and cultural impacts on the sports activities, and also describe the influence of sports on particular culture. Moreover, they combine the sport events with the surrounding environment in order to describe each and every aspect related to the sport activities.
These sports journalists are interacting with people in a very cordial manner, without using harsh words. They are focusing on the facts, and in order to make their writings interesting they just add their own comments without abusing any one so that the fans of a particular sport are not hurt, and they continue reading the articles, blogs, and comments of the journalists. In most of their comments and writings they avoid criticism, but if they criticize any sports-related activity and performance of a player they do it such as way that sarcastic words are not used. Sometimes sarcastic words are not tolerable and pave the way to conflict and serious consequences (Spiegel). Further, they title their articles by selecting those words and most important aspects of sports so that more and more readers are attracted.
Furthermore, these sports journalists are frequently using the social media. All of them are using twitter and they use to tweet daily. This is because they want to remain connected with people and interact with them daily so that information can be delivered to them on daily basis, and their views can be gathered. Further, they also want to make it sure that they are active on the social media and are performing their duty in an effective manner.
The major function of a journalist is to keep people informed about the facts and figures (Bovee). So, they are using social media almost on the daily basis so that the fans of supports remain up-to-date as well as well informed about their favorite sports activities and players. These journalists are, however, using their Twitter accounts for reporting on the daily basis. They are also active on blogging. They also write articles separately in order to give detailed description about every matter related to the sports.
