Knowledge and S kills
Other than through classes in school and academics, I feel that am well rounded since I have also acquired knowledge and skills from my local church since I was in Sunday school. I have received exposure to reality and real life experiences by attending church. I love talking to Sunday school kids so much because it is through the Sunday school that I learnt on how to be a well rounded student who respects both the teachers and parents. I could not have gained the knowledge and skills I got from church if it were not for my parents who brought me up with the rules that church is compulsory and not optional.
I am currently the Sunday school teacher in our local church and I could not have been one if I had not listened to the advice I was given and use the knowledge I acquired to better my life. I have learnt to thank God everyday I wake up for the gift of life He Has granted unto me and also for His protection throughout the day. Through the church, I learnt to be humble, obedient, loving , caring, respectful to my elders, being patient and also to work hard just to mention but a few. I followed what I was taught by my Sunday school teacher and the knowledge I got has made me excel in class.
Education is the key to success and success can only be achieved by one being an obedient and hardworking student which I first learnt in church. I got the right foundation from the church and this has highly contributed to my excellence in class. When I talk to the children every Saturday afternoon, most of them tell me that I am an inspiration to them and that they admire my personality why? Because I have always been obedient to my parents and my elders the values I learnt in church and they make me excel in everything that I do.
In addition to learning from the church, I have acquired knowledge and skills through the media and the internet. I always take my time to watch educative programs like documentaries and they expose me to the outside world. Furthermore, I always search in the internet anything that I feel that I do not understand well in school and this contributes to my excellence in class. I have even taken extra online classes just to broaden my knowledge so as to learn as much as I can. The world is full of a lot of information and one can not learn all of it from school but through other means (Resnick, 1987). When am interested in knowing something, I always go for it.
