Lan Cable Wiring Essay

My experience on LAN cable wiring was a challenging one. I had to make sure that the crimping tool is placed properly to expose the wires. I also had to make sure that my hands are not trembling, so that I can steadily place the wires correctly. LAN cable wiring is unlike electrical wiring, wherein you have to connect the wires in their proper places. I have to be careful when cutting very thin plastic wires. Otherwise, I would inadvertently cut the cable when I apply too much pressure. I made sure that I was careful in inserting the exposed cable wires, even though the LAN cable will not be damaged due to incorrect placement of wires.
There are two kinds of twisted pair cabling methods. The first kind is known as the unshielded twisted pair cable. It is the most popular cable because it is mainly used for most computer networks connected to the Internet and telephone communications. Unshielded twisted pair cables also require a Registered Jack, where exposed wires of the LAN cable are inserted to it. The other kind of cable is the shielded twisted pair cable, which is commonly seen in coaxial cables and fiber optic cable, mainly used for audio-video systems and cable networks.
LAN cable wiring is a different hands-on approach requiring better precision, so I might as well practice it until I have created my own working LAN cable. The videos have shown the importance of precise crimping as this makes sure the exposed wires are firm enough to reach the copper of the Registered Jack. It is also important to consider tight connection in cable crimping because air can turn metal into rust, and affect the quality of a handmade LAN cable.
