Law and justice is as much a part of who I am, as the air in my lungs and the blood in my veins: my Grandfather, Father and Sister are all lawyers and as such, I have never known a world where such matters have been on my mind and surrounding me. As an individual, I live my life by the law and respect every aspect of it: Lady Justice is my one true love. In the past, my endeavours to pursue such an education have been persistently accompanied by my past failures and I implore of you, please review my application whilst keeping in mind my passion and dedication to this cause: my past grades may not be fantastic, but my attitude has completely changed – spurred on by the Law application refusals in the past, I am a new man: tenacious, mature and my self-belief is now second to none. If given the chance, I know that I will shine and not only complete my education to an outstanding degree, I will also pass the bar as well: there is no doubt in my mind.
I have gained a large amount of work experience within the law arena. This includes my current position where, since the summer of 2009, I have been an assistant to an attorney, working in an office with over thirty years of experience. This role has exposed me to a number of experiences which have enlarged my world view, as well as my ability to review a case with regard to its context, merits and issues. Since January 2011, I have also been interning under a County Judge which has been an exciting and valuable experience. In the short time I have worked here, I have consistently proven myself to be a helpful and enthusiastic member of the team; I have been commended for my time management skills, in particular, which I am extremely proud of as I believe this to be a massively important skill in the law-field.
Both of these roles have taught me to manage my case loads effectively and efficiently. Witnessing two such monoliths of the law world has encouraged me to re-apply for law school as they have inspired me to be all that I can be: and I believe that I can be a great lawyer, and one day an attorney and judge, if I just work hard enough. My aspirations are high and my enthusiasm is unlimited: these are the skills that will make me the idea candidate. I am unbounded in my desire to achieve my dreams and whilst my past academic record does not read especially well, I ask you to assess me based on who I am today.
I live, breathe and sleep law and justice and my obsession will never be satiated, although I may go some way towards that by finding my path to law school and beyond. I hope to make my Grandfather, who sadly is no longer with us, and my Father proud by continuing on in the family name; their influence has inspired me to try and pursue law and I would be greatly appreciative of the chance to prove myself. If given this chance; I will not fail, I will not give up and I will work hard to achieve my potential. Nothing in this life is guaranteed and I have, unfortunately, learnt this the hard way. However, I am more than prepared to put in the time, effort and work to achieve my life’s dream.
