Leader can be defined as a person who guides a group of people and organizes them to achieve a common goal. Good leadership is the key to success of any successful business venture.
There are some special qualities which if present in a leader can make him successful. A leader should be honest and dedicated towards its duties. A business is the reflection of its leader; therefore by promoting healthy working lifestyle and encouraging the team to follow the ethics, the leader will be successful in achieving a friendly and dedicated workspace.
Ability to delegate a team is the most significant quality of a successful leader. A successful leader should be able to identify the strengths of his team member and divide the work between them accordingly to make them feel equally important part of the project. By doing so, the leader will be able to achieve high productivity of its team which is greatly needed for the success of the business.
Excellent communication skills are one of the important qualities of a successful leader (Tracy, 2014). Communication is necessary for all stages of working be it explaining the project or talking about interoffice issues. Healthy communication lines between leader and team ensures working for the same goal, and it creates a trust relation between team and its leader.
A business has to face numerous challenging situations which can easily be sorted by team support and cooperative leadership. Being able to handle tough situations confidently and maintaining team morale is important to become a successful leader.
A successful leader who is able to carry his job and team efficiently is a blessing and becoming a successful leader is necessary to achieve any objective. There is a difference between management and leadership which confuses many people. Leader’s job is to encourage and motivate while a manager organizes and coordinates the plan. Leader is the one who initiates and challenges a situation while a manager follows it and relies on control. A leader is an individual or his own person while manager is a classic good soldier (Marquis, 2009). Leaders develop talent and inspire results while manager organizes workers to achieve maximum efficiency and nurture their skills.
Management and leadership go hand in hand with each other and are inseparable. If both perform their respective tasks honestly and efficiently, there is no end to the level of success of any business.
