Marketers venture into the market to look for various niches that have not been occupied, and make a marketing plan on how to fill those gaps to meet the needs of the consumers in that area. Bratskeir (2016) wrote an article on ‘The Food Americans Are Most Likely To Stress Eat’, and this is one area that marketers can look into.
Summary of the results
The experimental method used in this article is the survey method, and included 2252 adults who gave different reaction about the research question. The research question was about Pizza, and a good number of people responded by agreeing that Pizza is one of their favorite comfort foods. 67% of them said that they run to consume comfort food anytime they are moody, or when they feel like their social bond has been disconnected. Research says that pizza is made from a mixture of various concoctions such as sugar, fat, a crust that turns brown on cooking, stringy mozzarella as well as acidified tomato sauce, all of which increase the anxiety of people to take more of it (Bratskeir, 2016).
Type of experimental method
The article is an example of a descriptive research. A descriptive research is a quantitative research that makes its conclusion based on online survey, just like the one conducted on 2253 adults. The objective of descriptive research is to draw a conclusion based on the findings, and in this article, a conclusion is made that people always turn to take pizza anytime they are down, because they trust whoever that prepared it (Bratskeir, 2016).
Food vendors and food industries are the business to utilize the information from this article. Generally, many people in America enjoy eating pizza, not because it is sweet but because it gives comfort. However, pizza has a short shelf-life, and if these business implements preservation methods and proper packaging techniques that will ensure the pizza go for a long time without deteriorating in taste and quality, they can be able to attract a larger market, not only in America but to other parts of the world.
