Organizational management is the incorporation of resources and human beings to plan, organize, staff and control to achieve the set objectives in an organization. In other words, organizational management is all about managing people. On the other hand, administration is concerned with administering organizational management by formulating rules and regulations, procedures, plan, goals as well as policies that an organization must follow towards the achievement of the set objectives. In other words, administration is all about decision making in an organization (Hughes, 2012).
In a policing administration, both organizational management and administration are equally important for its success. In a policing organization, there are many personnel in various department, all meant for law enforcement. Therefore, these people need management and guidance on what to do, how and when to do it. Thus, a leader is required to manage people, and that is the only way people involved can execute their duties successfully, to maintain security, law enforcement and protection of the community. On the other hand, policing organization requires administration to ensure everything is done systematically and excellently. For instance, rules and regulation are needed to ensure no corruption and discrimination among the workers. Policies are equally important to dictate how things should be done, and the procedure they will follow. To execute the administration, human power is needed, and that is where administration is engaged. Therefore, organizational management and administration work hand in hand for the success of the policing organization.
The policing organization has not been at its best, because criminal cases are still registered every day. However, the best solution this organization can implement is implementing technology in this sector, such as installation of CCTV cameras in all insecurity vulnerable areas. Besides, implementing devices that detect harmful material such as guns, bombs and other explosives should be implemented in airports especially. Also, criminal records should be stored in such devices, and should be able to detect a criminal anytime their names are run in them. By incorporating technological devices, crime can be controlled easily.
