Dear Sir,
It is with a great sense of apology that I wish to apprise you of a production error in our T-shirt production line. As you are aware, over the years, we have followed rigorous processes and quality checks to ensure that only the best quality products are distributed.
The error in the production line occurred last week, when the Copy Checker had to leave on a personal emergency and there was no one available in the night shift to take her place. This resulted in a spelling error in the batch of T-shirts. Due to the tight timeline, my team went ahead and made the decision to produce the T-shirts, without an approval from the Copy Checker. This was an error on our part, which has resulted in the loss of $10,000 to the company. To ensure that this error is not repeated, we have decided to keep two Copy Checkers on stand-by at all times during our production cycle. Hope you are in agreement with this solution to the issue.
My team and I also suggest that the company donate the batch of T-shirts to World Vision and other such organizations – to gain tax benefits and positive brand image. World Vision does accept new clothes for distribution to needy children and families in various countries (Falsani, 2011). This is an opportunity to also create some PR and link it to our efforts in Corporate Social Responsibility. I hope you are in agreement with these suggestions and will allow us to proceed with this course of action.
Best Regards,
