The manufacturer of choice, in this case, is Spectra Fire Systems PVT LTD, India. On the other hand, the wet chemical extinguisher manufactured by Spectra Fire Systems is the Fire Squad ("Asbestos Fire Systems Pvt. Ltd." Par 1). The product is designed to cover the K class of fires.
Product highlights
The major chemical ingredient used for Fire Squad comprises the Potassium Acetate soaps. The system is used to put off the fires from ventilating equipment, griddles, range tops, and deep fryers, amongst other cooking appliances ("Asbestos Fire Systems Pvt. Ltd." Par 1). The system sprays fine droplets of the chemical agent onto the surface of the appliances to knock the fire down, cool the surface and secure the fire. When the potassium acetate-based fire extinguishing agent comes in contact with hot grease, a reaction takes place leading to the formation of thick foam on the surface of the fuel. The foam creates a barrier between the fuel and the atmosphere leading to fire knock-down.
Advantages and disadvantages of the system
Fire Squad is rechargeable and thus it can be used for long periods regardless of the number of fire hazard incidents. The system is also designed robustly, with controlled discharge and stainless steel body ("Asbestos Fire Systems Pvt. Ltd." Par 2). However, the system is limited by the fact that it is only capable of fighting the K class of fires and thus rendering it useless in situations of other classes of fires.
Fire Squad’s special requirements and components
Spectra Fire Systems have three versions of Fire Squad with three different volumes, including 2, 4 and 6 liters ("Asbestos Fire Systems Pvt. Ltd." Par 2). One is required to recharge the system after controlling the fire in the preparation for the next hazards. Some of the parts of the system include spray nozzle, tank, squeeze grip, and hose pipe.
