The Museum of Modern Art
There are multiple not for profit organizations that are established to cater or work for the welfare of society. These organizations are operating in different disciplines to support community promoting creativity and skills. The main idea of the not for profit organization is to assist the society to grow in a progressive manner. It may be through providing broader platform, funding, advisory and other ways to support. Similarly, the organization named MoMA is a not for profit organization that is establish to promote creativity of the citizen. It has provided a platform for the individuals to share their creativity.In this document, brief information of a not for profit organization namely “The Museum of Modern Art” is summarized. The objective of this document is to comprehensively share the information of the organization to citizen and stakeholders.
The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) was developed in 1929 as an education institute that was then dedicated to the museum of modern art in the world. The museum is a not for profit organization that promotes creativity individuals to provide inspiration. The museum exhibits one of the world’s finest modern art collections. The museum is dedicated to exhibit the artwork of past and present to demonstrate experimental. There are multiple activities and exhibitions that take place at the museum to gain attention.
History
The Museum of Modern art started with as an educational institute that was developed by three artists namely, Mrs. Cornelius J Sullivan, Mrs. John D Rockefeller and Miss Lillie P. Bliss who worked collaboratively to change the policies of traditional museums. It is developed as a devoted institute to promote modern art with its original trustees who have ensured to preserve the originality of the museum. The original trustees of the museums are Paul Sachs, Frank Crowninshield, A Conger Goodyear and Josephine Boardman Crane. Among the trustees, one of the founding directors named Alfred H Barr dedicated the museum to help people to understand visual arts providing them opportunity for the people of New York to promote their creativity.
MoMA Currently
The museum currently maintains scheduling exhibitions for modern and contemporary arts including different range of visual arts. The museum contributes in the inclusion of recent development in art movement that is traced from historical and contemporary arts. However, the work that is presented at the museum is rotated timely according to the times, events and public. Moreover, there are other programs that are being conducted at the museum it includes a range of program of class and contemporary film making to design new contemporary and modern filmmaking based on experimental film work.
With the greater success of the museum and overwhelming response from the public that museum was expanded progressively in next ten years. The museum was than expanded to multi-department structure, that is, Architecture and Design, Print and Illustrated books, Painting and Sculpture, Film and Video. There were many varieties of collection presented in the museum; initially there were eight painting that later increased to more than 150,000 painting, sculptures, prints, photographs, and designs.
MoMA has formed affiliation with the known institutions it is known as MoMA PS1 it is founded by the Contemporary Art Center. It was established in the thirtieth year of the formation of the MoMA in the year 2006. Today, MoMA has emerged to be one of the leading world’s oldest organizations that is collaboratively working with the largest organization to bring advancement in contemporary arts. The development in these regions is taking place with more than 100 years old institutions for its school building and expanding programs, exhibitions and events. The facility’s space is nearly about 125,000 square-feet. It exhibits more than 200 artists including visual arts.
The partnership of MoMA with the MoMA’s partners was done to promote the study, understanding and appereciate contemporary arts to wider range of audience. There are more collaborative arts that are established to develop special programs, projects and events to anticipate future requirement. It has also facilitated MoMA to strengthen its resources and reshaping its culture discourse. There is wider showcasing at the museum with extensive number of artists displaying their work.

MoMA has constantly expanded throughout time showing tremendous work to support community to bring advancement and development in contemporary and modern art. Staff
Leadership of trustees and staff members that are collaboratively working together directs MoMA. It includes wide range of individuals including corporate, civilians and others to manifest constant development, establishment, preserving and documentation of the permanent collection. Also, the visitors can sign membership to support the community. There are different members that are offered which may vary according to client profile. Currently, MoMA offers exclusive membership through which the individuals can avail unlimited admission, private exhibition, and valuable discounts for the exhibitions, café and stores. Gift membership is also provided to provide support children and adults in New York. The organizational structure of MoMA compresses officers and board of trustees, senior staff, volunteers and others. There are life trustee of the organization, ex-officio and Honorary Trustees.
The senior staff members of MoMA are “Glenn D Lowry, Quentin Bajac, Ramona BronkarBannayan, Klaus Biesenbach, Todd Bishop, Christophe Cherix, James L. Coddington, James GAra, Ann Temkin, Wendy Woom and Peter Reed”.
Programs
There is wide range of bookstores that are presented at the museum to support their working as a collaborative event for the production, publication and design of the stores for the development of modern and contemporary literature. The institute has assigned other educational needs for the development of complete programs to assist public and other segment. There are different teaching services that are provided to the parents, families, people with special needs, students, bilinguals, etc. It includes wide range of visitors that visit the museum to maintain itself as a study center. It is one of the active publishing programs that are currently publishing in more than 20 languages in 1200 editions.
There are multiple events that are directed by MoMA it includes Lectures and Events, Classes and Internship, Group Visits, Kids & Families, Teems and K-Teachers. However, there are different community organizations that are severved at MoMA. These are exclusively designed to link professional development. There are numerous of tailored programs for children, adults, families and older organization. There are also international programs that are currently being provided by MoMA.
Since, there are programs that are offered at different dimensions that vary according to the audience. The following are the programs that are being offered at MoMA.
It includes MoMA Group Visits. In this program that individuals visit the gallery for certain time of duration mainly 60 minutes. In these group visits, students, adults, older adults from different places visit the gallery to see the artwork that is displayed in the museum.
Community Based Program
MoMA understands the diverse needs of each community. There are variety of community based programs that are organized to enhance creativity of the organization. However, the group for this is 25 people or more. The programs are tailored to serve the needs of each community as well as each of the individual coming to this program has one family pass which provides opportunity for other person to have free visit.
Art Studio
The Art Studio visit program are designed for individuals who are willing to experience working with the gadgets that are available to them at the MoMA art studio. It provides an opportunity for each of the individual to visit the art studio and make his or her own artwork in the given one hour duration. The participants can work with their own creativity as well as they have assistance of the professional to improve guide them for their artwork. Through this the visitors have an opportunity to work with their own collection and exhibitions. They can learn new ideas and techniques about the modern and contemporary art. Also, there is greater inspiration shared for the individuals to create their own artwork in a professional art studio with the all the art equipment they require.
There are also other additional programs such as Three-Part Program in which individuals can conduct and participate in in-depth engagements to improve their artwork. It has extended duration of time that gives time to people to carry out their work.
MoMA Outdoor programs in this the individuals have visits in the different places in an informal process. They can communicate with one another and engage in different activities in fun environment.
Professional Development for Community Organization Staff
There are different types of workshops that are designed for staff members and volunteer from the community organization to improve their learning and skills. It enables them to have an opportunity to enhance their skills and overcome the gaps. It keeps them updated with the emerging trends.
Courses For Homebound Individuals
These are online courses that vary according to the type of the program opted. It includes wide range of learning activities that is mainly conducted for free for teleconference. These are design specifically for the people of the US.
Volunteer Program
The people can volunteer at MoMA occasionally or permanently. There are different volunteering programs that are offered at MoMA depending on the events and skills of the candidates.
Lobby Greeter
People across the community are welcomed to join volunteer programs to greet and direct visitors about the programs and membership programs. These volunteers work to answer general questions to support and help visitors. Moreover, they are assigned duties, roles and responsibilities based on the resources available to assess effective operation of lobby.
MoMA Art Lab Greeter
The volunteers are working collaboratively with the to greet the visitors at the art lab. The core duties are to instruct the people to carry out their work in an effective way. Moreover, they introduce facilitator as well as direct the visitors.
