The district court for El Paso in Texas is known as the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. The court is located in the Magoffin Avenue. Despite the prowess of the court in handling major cases, it is not allowed to handle appellant cases. Instead, these cases are handled by the Fifth Circuit court in Texas (U.S. Court of Appeals, 2014).
The court has previously handled nursing related cases such as misdiagnosis, surgical errors, medication errors, birth injury, as well as anesthetic errors. The court aims at proving whether the defendant was guilty or innocent. The ruling is usually based on facts, and support of the various sources of law that may be in use in the city. Decisions in such cases were extremely influential to future nursing practices in the city (Attorney.Info, 2013). Nurses became extremely keen of their behaviors at work to save many lives while in the line of duty.
The qualifications of a witness depend on the kind of case is to be heard. The witness must possess adequate educational knowledge of the field within which he or she operates. The other qualification is that the witness must be well trained in a given field to ensure that he or she offers well informed analysis of what he or she knows about a given case. Thirdly, the witness must show excellent knowledge concerning a given line of practice. Also, possession of skills concerning a given practice would be fundamental in defining the reliability of a witness concerning a case in a given field (Budd, 2013). As a witness for a nurse related case, honest and ability to interpret nursing situations should be extensively fundamental. Proper knowledge of the element in the case should be used as a vital tool for any witness (Guido, 2010). If I was well equipped with knowledge about the field, and matched with excessive information about the case I would become a witness for a nursing case.
