All supervisory personnel of Human Resources needs to complete employee performance appraisals before April 15. We ask you to pay attention to the question and write your appraisals carefully, as this year, due to a lot of evolutionary changes in the world of work, employee performance appraisals are of vital importance.
Remember, that your appraisals should contain three or four main objectives. Write these objectives clearly, as they are designed to help employees understand their aims. Actually, objectives create a complex image of who is a successful employee, so your objectives need to be as clear as possible.
Remember to include three employee’s strengths as well as three areas for improvement. These ones need to be written carefully with proper vocabulary. For instance, instead of ‘being late’ (as the area of improvement) you better use ‘time-management’.
In order to assess employees, use a modified 5-points scale. 1 point is used in case of employee totally exceeding the requirements and 5 points in case of total failure. Even if the scale seems quite screwy, remember, you should stay objective and follow the requirements of writing employee performance appraisals.
If you still do not understand how to organize your appraisal better or what objectives are better to be mentioned, use an employee handbook. Besides, you can register to participate in appraisal writing workshop on February 20.
After accomplishing or employee performance objectives, you need to organize a meeting and discuss your objectives with the employees. That will help you add something important or remove something nonsense. Clear everything up and send to our office.
Please, remember that the deadline is April 15. It will not be extended.

Curbing profanity on the job
Dear Sirs/Mesdames,
You could have admitted that our company does not have any profanity policies. Therefore, due to the fact that cursing on a workplace is not illegal, the amount of foul language used in our company has increased. However, cursing is totally inappreciable and it should be curbed from the workplace once and forever.
As profanity has become an integral part of our employees recently, there has been a list of reasons why people curse. According to our workers, cursing can help express ‘inexpressible’ emotions and this way, it can reduce stress levels. Besides, cursing is a kind of indicators, which detect that this person is ‘one of the boys’. Finally, some people have been using foul language for most time of their lives and it is almost impossible to get rid of it.
However, these reasons in favor of profanity do not sound convictive, when opposing the reasons against. The first and the most important aspect of cursing is its psychological meaning. When cursing, people make everyone around them feel uncomfortable. Additionally, even meaningless cursing in someone’s address will make this person feel abused. It seems to be evident that behavior, which can be observed as an abusing, is a dangerous threat to our company’s inner and outer healthy relationships.
Secondly, profanity is traditionally seen as the feature of immature people with the limited vocabulary. Such an image does not seem to be an image of a successful employee of a successful company. Thirdly, profanity can constitute sexual harassment (both verbally and in print).
Profanity changes people and their surrounding making it full of abuse and misconduct. Remember, that when using foul language you damage the reputation of your company and create improper working conditions for other people, which is not permissible. Think of it twice and curb profanity from the working place.
