English
English is a fascinating language, both in its structure and format as well as its richness in terms of literary perspective. The course helped me a lot in improving my knowledge of the language and also supported me to grasp awareness about various writing conventions in English. I am furnishing my learning outcomes of the course for a future student who wants to pursue learning in English.
As part of the course, I learned proper structuring of essays and sentence structuring. I learned strategies to write an eye-catching introduction, listing out concepts and developing them into body paragraphs, and drafting memorable conclusions. I could also enhance my vocabulary and refine my writing style. I learned to write different types of papers like evaluation essays, annotated bibliography, argumentative essays, etc. (Four Types of Essay) I remember an instance in which I once wrote an article on ‘Global terrorism’ as a class assignment. My article was unacceptably long, and my teacher helped me to make it crisp and compact. I could also identify the frequently made writing mistakes and rectify them. Now, when I rethink about the course, I feel that I could have done better if I dedicated more time for reading as well as listening exercises. This could have drastically improved my sentence construction skills as well as pronunciation.
My advice to budding students is that focusing on the program with utmost dedication will help you to achieve the optimum outcome from the course. If you are a student who is dedicated to learning, the course will definitely make a change by improving your linguistic skills in every aspect. In my personal experience, drafting a perfect essay needs the investment of quality time. Drafting the essay and refining it multiple times will make it a well-crafted final product. Students can also approach faculty members at the lab to request help to rectify mistakes in your writing. I had problems finding the right flow in structuring sentences. However, I became better as I invested more time for practice and through peer evaluation. Never be lazy to work hard to make the essay perfect. From the course, I have learned there is no shortcut towards perfection, and that continuous endurance will help to reap success.
