RE: DECISION ON PROPOSAL BEFORE THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
A big thank you to everyone for creating the proposal that was presented in front of the Board of Directors. They were very impressed with all the quality and detail we put into our proposal for the Gates Foundation grant for the program on digital payment systems to combat poverty. There were many other projects proposed at the same time, so the Board had to very carefully determine which project to select to pursue.
The Board spent hours reviewing each proposal, reading every detail and analyzing which one should be pursued. In the end they decided on which proposal would be the easiest and most viable option to implement now. Unfortunately they have decided to go with another project, meaning our program will be postponed this year. However, they have not denied the program and the possibility of re-opening the program at a later date. The seemed reluctant to start such an extensive program at this time but are open to returning to the program at a better time.
Please do not be discouraged at their decision as your exceptional work did not go unnoticed and they truly enjoyed the program, it is just not the right fit for the current time. We will continue to monitor digital payment systems in poverty stricken countries should the Board decide to take a second look at the program.
I would like to continue our level and dedication to high quality we have come to expect from our team. After this decision, I have already started to develop some new ideas that I will present to the team to get all your input and start brainstorming together as all of your ideas are highly valued. Without you this team would not be what it is today.
