Background Information/Behavioral Observations:
Maschael is a single female who came from Saudi Arabia. She is currently a college student pursuing a degree in Business in the United States. She is the eldest of four children. Her younger siblings include one female and two brothers. Her parents are still together. Her father is already retired while her mother is still working in a marketing company. All her siblings are single and just like her, two are studying in the US. However, her family stays in her home country. She defined her family life as generally wonderful although she had encountered issues with her father. She also got engaged at the age of nineteen but eventually called it off. The experience, however, affected how she perceives relationship with other men. She is now in the process of completing her course in business administration.
Mashael mentioned that she has issues with her weight. She perceives that she is suffering from obesity. I observed her lifestyle to be disorganized. In line with this, she eats unhealthy foods combined with lack of sleep. She has no idea of where she wants her life to head and, as a result, does not know how to manage her habits. She mentions that she still needs to rely on someone in order to correct her life.
Test Interpretation
Validity of the Profile
The test score of Mashael proves that the results were valid. The K score that she garnered indicated that she was trying to maintain a healthy balance between positive self-evaluation and self-criticism. Her L scale, on the other hand, is not elevated in its normal range. Moreover, both F and Fb are in a normal range of 55 to 59. However, her VRIN is elevated which may lead to the invalidity of the protocol as a result of inconsistent response.
Test Taking Attitude
At first, she appeared to be unwilling on taking the MMPI-2 as she mentioned that it was her first time to participate in a personality test. It was obvious that she got a lot in her mind while she was taking the exam. I also noticed that her attention span was short during the duration of the exam. Although she was attempting to look enthusiastic while completing the exam, it was obvious that she was having a difficult time. She is currently suffering depression and that her emotions affected the results of her test.
Based on her elevated scores of above 65, Mashael appears to be suffering from a high level of stress. Her scale 6, for example, resulted to 69 meaning that she tends to be over-sensitive and overly affected to the opinion of other people. In fact, I noticed that she received an elevated score in Scale 2 which corresponds to her feeling blue, miserable, unhappy and dysphonic. On an observational standpoint, she appears pessimistic about her future. She also displays self-deprecatory and guilt feelings wherein she has to tendency to cry and not speak. She can also show mental retardation. She also reports to have experienced having bad dreams, fatigue and physical exhaustion. She has the tendency to feel useless and vulnerable.

She develops a number of physical symptoms such as headaches, stomach pains, chest pain and tachycardia. In addition, both scale 7 and 8 were marked high. On scale 4, she got 64 which is also considered as an elevated score. It suggest that she a difficulty incorporating values and standards of society into her life. She also scored above 65 in her scales 6-9 which are all high scores.
Perceptions of Environment and Relationships with Others
Since Mashael fell on the scores, 2,4, 7, and 9, the outcome suggests that she is not the type of person who is outgoing and easily trusting. She has depressive tendencies. She blames her family members for the difficulties she is experiencing. She also feels anxious, tense, agitated and lacks in self-confidence.
Diagnostic Implications
Mashael’s results on MMPI-2 suggest the presence of a mental health diagnosis.it is obvious in her emotional and depressive tendency score. I believe that she needs to undergo psychological counseling given her current state.
Summary
Mashael appears to be under great stress. She is constantly pre-occupied with negative thoughts. It suggests that she has a tendency to succumb to depression and that affected the result of test. She currently finds it difficult to trust people. This difficulty is rooted from her problems with her father and her negative experience with her romantic relationship. These problems accumulated and are now affecting her general perception of relationship. Her constant negative thinking is undoubtedly affecting her character.
