There are a number of ways I would go about finding information for a technology Management class. Of course, the specific types of resources search would depend on the specific nature of research the Technology Management project was attempting to investigate. However, there are a number of areas that I would use for all sorts of technology management projects. Perhaps the most important forms of information I would search for are peer-reviewed journals. Peer-reviewed journals often contain empirical research that implements rigorous statistical or analytical material to reach its conclusions. Even when such research does not implement empirical testing methods, the research is subject to review by academic professionals; subsequently, it is held to a higher standard than the typical site on Google. While there are thousands of peer-reviewed journals, I would begin by going to the library’s search engine for journals. I would then limit the search results to journals from the last five years because this information is newest and conceivably most relevant. If I was not able to find journal articles within this search range I would then expand the search to include journals before this five year period. After searching for peer-reviewed journals, I would then expand my search for books. There are a variety of ways I would conduct a library book search. I would first search by keywords that reflect the specific subject I am researching. After locating a few books, I would use Google to check out if the books were similar to the topic I was researching. Finally, after locating books I would check to see if the author of these books had similar books available in the library.
