The analysis considers a case of a male he who is 56 years. He weighs 11745.7 pounds and has a height of 5.5ʺ. He is married to one wife and they have four children, 3 girls and one boy. At adolescence, he was not sexually mature. Although he was at late puberty stages, body growth was occurring at a rapid rate. This included growth of pubic hair, growth of muscles, and deepening of the voice. These developmental changes affected how he interacted with the environment (Santrock, 2006). This was exhibited by creating different relationships, which were based on sexual traits, and developing a sense of being a young adult. However, he had a variation in the growth pattern, which was evidenced by the ability of the he feeling insecure when he compared with his peers.
He associates early adulthood with the time of attainment of peak physical development. This includes full development of body and muscles, attainment of peak sensory capacities, manual coordination and agility. However, he could see some few changes in body development at this stage. As such, the he felt energetic and robust, but fluctuations developed in cases where deadlines were close. Nevertheless, he was in a position of formulating personal exercise regimes and eating habits.
At mid-life, he was experiencing tremendous internal and external physical changes. These included facial wrinkles, hair thinning, grey hair appearance and weight appearance on the lower body. Internal changes included decline in efficiencies of nervous systems, respiratory systems and cardiovascular systems. At late adulthood, he depicted physical changes, which include posture changes, hair thinning, subcutaneous fat loss, and skin wrinkling. Internal changes included weakening of muscles and loss of digestive and respiratory systems efficiency.
In terms of cognitive development he illustrated capabilities of dealing with world challenges in a new manner and powerful means by having strong thinking capabilities. As such, he was able to have effective formal operations since he could deal with cognitive tasks. This included having a wide reasoning capability. Moreover, he developed strong interests in spiritual matters, environment, feminism, human rights, and political issues at this stage. This is based on the ability of the individual to have radical thinking and generate great ideas from the interaction with the environment. In addition, he was able to demonstrate improvement in decision-making, mathematical operations, objective thinking, and inductive and deductive inference abilities.
At early adulthood, he developed a reasoning ability, which is similar to what would be expected in an adult society. In this, the he would solve problems effectively and generate solutions in a more abstract way than ever. In addition, at early adulthood the he depicted a stronger development in terms of perceptual speed, spatial orientation, inductive reasoning, and verbal ability. At mid-life, he depicted the ability of attaining stable mental capabilities. This was evidenced by better performance in comparison to early adulthood. In addition, he was able to have stable life skills, clear and emotion thinking. At late adulthood, he performance on cognitive abilities is low in terms of processing speed and reaction time.
Based on this study, his social environment was changing at a rapid rate. These changes were reflected by his cognitive and biological developments. At this stage, he would focus on having an impact on social or lives of people and taking chance of all opportunities, which emerge from society. Sexual and gender issues were the key areas of development recognized at this stage. This is because he developed the ability of making a distinction between unacceptable and acceptable behavior in society. This included beginning to play the adult roles by taking care of the female colleagues and young children. However, he became sexually active, was often attracted to women, and he never felt free to discuss sex related issues with the parents. On the same note, he was involved in sexual relations at this stage. Moreover, the key focus for the he was that peers are essential. Consequently, the he focused more on creation of peer relations and associating himself with activities of his close friends.
He depicted challenges in formidable developmental tasks at early adulthood. This is because he was still struggling with romance-based issues and choosing a career. This created several emotional reactions, which were based on comparison with peers and expectations of the society. At mid-life, he faced new challenges. These challenges were based on occupation and personal live and how various circumstances and events affected his progress. At late adulthood, he developed a conflict between despair and integrity.
At adolescence, he depicted being proud of his ethnic background and religion and associating himself with socio-economic status of his family. However, he did not have a desire of participating in cultural practices. At early adulthood, he started recognizing his culture and participating in cultural practices. This included learning more about upholding the morals and ethics of his religion and ethnic background. At mid-life, he was among the implementers and enforcers of cultural practices in society. At late adulthood, he was engaged in providing cultural information and advice to younger generation. He is more focused at protection of culture at this stage. This has great impact since he knows the necessity of culture and protection of culture. This ensures that all generations have the ability of comprehending more with regard to cultural practices of the society.
