Introduction
Job attitudes have a direct link to the motivation levels in any organizations. Motivation influences employee behaviour. It is expected that highly motivated employees will be efficient and effective while low motivation will to dismal performance by employees. Employee motivation level also influences their interpersonal relations, as well as adherence to organizational policies.
The job attitude of an individual heavily depends on the level of motivation an employee gets from the organization’s leadership. Good leadership and treatment of employees boosts their job attitudes. For example, the Perceived Organizational Support (POS) is a job attitude that depends on whether the organization motivates and encourages its employees. Furthermore, employees are satisfied when they are motivated hence; they have organizational commitment and job satisfaction. Therefore, job attitudes are born out of the kind of motivation one gets from his workplace.
Motivation and performance
Motivation involves encouraging employees to do a good job. Therefore, motivation focuses mainly on achieving good performance levels in the organization. Motivation includes rewarding employees as a way of making them know that their performance is appreciated and valued within the organization. Therefore, motivation influences worker behaviour positively in order to improve performance.
Interpersonal relations
Motivation helps improve the interpersonal relations of employees because it instils confidence and understanding among employees. The purpose of motivation is to build a strong team of employees who have self-belief and trust one another to achieve the organizational goals. Therefore, motivation helps these people grow their interpersonal relations and self-confidence.
Organizational policies
Motivation relates to ensuring that employees operate within the regulations of the organization. During motivation, employees are enlightened on the importance of organizational loyalty, which entails adhering to organizational policies.
Conclusion
Motivation entails encouraging employees in an organization to boost their self-confidence and interpersonal relationships and work as a unit towards achieving the organizational goals. Motivation also promotes employee loyalty by helping them adhere to the organization’s policies.
