Proposal Argument Topics
1. Bull fighting
2. Soccer players being paid an extortionate amount of money when people are starving
3. People who commit mercy killings and assist in suicide getting sent to prison
Bull fighting is a hotly debated issue in many parts of the world. In Spain, bull fights are a regular part of the culture and countless numbers of tourists visiting the country attend a fight during their stay. However, it is barbaric and outdated. The bull is tortured before finally being killed, exhausted, after hours of tormenting. There are strong arguments for both side of the debate, though I am certain that bull fighting should be abolished. Nevertheless, the differing opinions on the topic would make it a good proposal argument.
Soccer, and other sports, players, are paid a huge amount of money to play games for our country. Meanwhile, there are many people living in abject poverty, even in the United States. To me, this is not what our country should be representing and endorsing. On the other hand, there are plenty of arguments in favour of paying sports people large sums of money. Therefore, in the context of an argument essay, the topic would be a good one.
Mercy killings and assisted suicides occur all over the world and many people are punished severely for helping their loved ones to end the pain of terminal illness. I do not think this is right; even if a person in this position needs to be punished, a prison sentence is completely unsuitable and inappropriate. Again, this topic is widely debated and therefore would make for a successful proposal argument.
