In regard to President Reagan’s statement on the criminalization of drugs, I find the following instances fallacious; He goes on state that, all youths are under the influence of drug abuse. In the opinion of these ensuing events, he failed to acknowledge the fact that, society is never uniform. His statement is, therefore, not logically conclusive. It is vague in the most of its positions.
On the same note, he failed to highlight whether the issue was affecting only the male or all categories of youths. Similarly, President Reagan just mentioned statistics of drug abuse among Americans without paying due regard to the sources of the reports that facilitated the conclusive of his assertions. It is also not logically probative or not to come to terms on what president Reagan strictly based upon on grounds of drug abuse and addiction. He vaguely mentions drugs without keyly differentiating them in terms of how lethal they were and their pragmatic effects.
On the other hand, Professor Milton is of the opinion that, drugs should be legalized. In this cogent statement in as far as he is concerned; he said that, legalization of drugs will help boost reduction in drug abuse. However, his position is not well furbished since he makes statements without conclusively beefing them up. It is not specific on how drugs will boost the economy and how their further legalization reduces the abuse of fatal drugs.
In this case, Professor Milton does not highlight reasons to why the criminalization of Prohibition drugs affected the country to such an overwhelming scale. It can be easily adduced that he was not essentially relevant in all his utterances. In his definition on the legalization of drugs, Milton states that, they are of a social context. However, he does not give justifications that bind to his assertion.
