Narrative
All three children of late Mr. and Mrs. Wiggins had divorced whereas two of them, namely Phil, Faye and Louwanna also suffered from mental health issues. Mr. Wiggins retired from the NC state employment, just a few years before his death. Grandmother, Thelma Wiggins was a beautician and owned her own beauty salon that got closed after her death because none of her children looked after it.
Faye followed the footsteps of her father by working for the state as well at her birth place Aycock, an old governor’s place. She died of heart attack, following the family history of heart problems, at the prison where she was sent for being involved in a corruption case. Phil was mentally retarded which further resulted in the dissolution of his marriage with no children. After his divorce, Phil spent his time at the local special care unit of the rehabilitation centre. On the other hand, Louwanna died by falling off from the roof of her house after her divorce, as she was suffering from mental health problems. She was a full time house wife that is why she was unable to cope with her divorce after being married for 17 years. Her children, Ruth and Mike became drug addict under the influence of bad company as they were totally shattered by the sudden death of their mother following the divorce of their parents. They also grew up in a disturbed environment since their mother was mentally ill and the relationship of their parents was not healthy. After the death of their mother, they stayed with their father, step-mom, step brother and a step sister. Faye had four daughters. Two of her daughters, namely: Dallie and Cathy are happily married with no significant physical or mental health issues whereas her younger two daughters, namely: Leigh and Lesley are both alcoholic besides suffering from acute depression. This adversely affected their marital life resulting in divorce. Leigh’s condition is so severe that she did not marry again and she runs a bar for earning her livelihood. However, Lester was divorced twice and then with the help of some psychological help, her condition improved and she is now living happily after her third marriage. But she regularly takes her follow-up sessions. Dallie, Cathy and Lester are all full time house wives taking care of their families.
Examining the family history of the Wiggins, it is hereby concluded that mental health issues such as depression that led them to substance abuse, which in turn resulted in unhappy relationship with the spouse, ultimately causing the dissolution of marriage.
