Introduction
The bibles first book begins with the story of creation whereby Adam was created, and Eve the first woman was created later, after God saw that Adam was lonely. They both lived happily on the Garden of Eden until Eve was deceived by a Serpent into eating the forbidden fruit (disobeying God) from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Adam along with Eve was later chased out of the Garden of Eden because of the disobedience. In addition to being chased they were both cursed by God. From that time Man had to work hard in order to feed his family and Woman was given the burden of carrying an unborn child for nine months and to experience pain during child delivery. Lastly Both Man and Woman became mortal hence after some time they would die.
Role of Men in the Bible
After Adam sinned against God he was cursed to labor in order to feed his family, hence Men assume the role of seeking for food through toiling in gardens (such as Cain) and herding (such as Cain, Jacob).
Men also assumed the role of being rulers. Men assumed most of the leadership roles as Kings Examples are King David, King Solomon and King Herod just to name a few.
The prophets that were chosen by God to act as mediators between Humans and God were men. Examples are Ezekiel, Elijah, Jeremiah and Isaiah just to name a few.
Men also took positions in the Synagogue spiritual leaders known as Pharisees.
Soldier positions were taken by men; they were responsible in defending their kingdoms from external attacks as well as carrying out raids. An example is whereby Gideon goes with 300 men to fight the Midianites (Judges 7).
The men also took the positions of tax collectors, an example is Zacchaeus. Men also took roles as carpenters an example is Joseph the father of Jesus.
Role of Women in the Bible
Women looked after the children at home (since they gave birth). Other household tasks such as cooking were carried out by women at home; an example is The Widow of Zarephath who cooked for Prophet Elijah.
Few women in the bible assumed the position of rulers such as Queen Esther and Queen of Sheba just to mention a few.
Women also assumed the spiritual role of prophetess such as Miriam (Ex. 15:20), Deborah (Judg. 4:4), and Huldah (2 Kings 22:14).
Conclusion
According to the Bible very many tasks were carried out by Men as compared to Women.
