Question 1:
Managed care has had a significant effect on the service delivery in the US. First of all, it has given the general population a chance to choose the kind of service they wish for and who they prefer to give the services to them. As such, the citizens have a chance to access the services of their choice. This is very important as it makes the people have both physical and psychological relief after getting teh services. This facilitates quick recovery. Managed care system has also helped in raising the standards of service care delivery. The different health personnel understand that they have a responsibility of making sure that they offer the best to their clients. This is the only way they can be assured that the clients would come back. The standards are also increased by the fact that the institutions have to comply with the regulations set forth for service delivery. This implies that the health care providers have the latest technology. They are also skilled in using the quality resources at their disposal. Consequently, there is delivery of high quality care for the patients.
Question 2:
At a personal level, I have experienced some of the components of managed care programs. One of these is health promotion. There are more health promotion messages and prompts that are now available. Therefore, one can easily make a choice on the health service to go for. On pricing component, I have experienced the services that are offered at a reasonable and affordable price. This, therefore, is a clear indication of the benefits that the society can attain from these programs. Of most importance is the accessibility of healthcare. Through the intervention of the programs, I have realized that it is now much easier to access any health service as opposed to the past where this could have been a challenge. Lastly, it is a common fact that the availability and accessibility of a service is not all that is needed. Rather, quality of the service is also important. Through compliance with the provisions of the managed care programs, the quality of health services offered has greatly improved. This is a positive aspect they have come about as a result of the implementation of managed care programs.
Question 3:
Though the managed care programs have brought services closer to the people and can be hailed for this, it is also a known fact that there are challenges threatening the success foo the program. In my opinion, the greatest challenge is sustainability of the programs. As it stands, the Obamacare bill in the US has sparked much debate in the country/. This is despite the fact that people continuously need the affordable and accessible health services. However, the economic conditions are not that favorable. As the society adjusts to the new health care pans, it is possible that there are some areas that will be neglected. As such, the managed care programs might be pressed for cash. This will, in return, make it hard for the programs to keep running. However, streamlining of the programs to the proposed health care plans could offer an avenue out of the problem. All that is needed is for the program implementers to make sure that there is a swift but smooth transition into the new healthcare programs. This could caution the people against the possible failure of the managed health care programs.
