Findings
This particular section will be devoted to analyzing and examining the findings of the overall study. In particular, it will discuss the results the study, including the limitations of the current project, applications of the findings in practice and further recommendations for the research devoted to the topic of ABA-based treatment for children diagnosed with autism. In this regard, it is necessary reminding that the current project has achieved the respective results in discussing the following questions: the fundamental definition and meaning of ABA, the most popular strategies of ABA applicable to treating autism in children and eventually the outcomes and overall effectiveness of such treatment.
Limitations
Considering the overall limitations of the research, it is necessary to state that this research would definitely be more complete and represent the discussed and researched information more adequately and exactly if it had more studies conducted according to the principles of personalized research into the topic of ABA-based treatment for the children diagnosed with autism. Due to a limited number of surveys and confined results in terms of outcomes of ABA-based therapy, the results of the research remained rather disputable than certain. In this regard, personalized interviewes with therapists conducting ABA-based treatment and with parents of the children receiving this treatment should be performed in a more detailed manner. Along with this, it is necessary broadeding the scope of the research so that the research would have detailed results for particular country and nation. In addition, estimating the overall emotional and intellectual status of children undergoing the ABA-based treatment in a more detailed and explicit way will also complement the related research.
Use and Application of Findings
Considering further application of findings, it is necessary determining that the overall result of the research proves the positive outcomes of ABA-based treatment including emotional, intellectual and social status improvement of the patients. Furthermore, not only the research has become beneficial for the childrend receiving ABA-based treatment along with their parents, but the rest of children suffering with autism have received at least some minimal chance to find a solution out of their disease. That’s why it appears more than obvious that future researches should be conducted according to the aforementioned principles in order to decrease to minimum any hazardous consequences of autism in children.
Recommendation: Calculating and analyzing the exact figures related to the outcomes of the ABA-based treatment. This particular recommendation appears to be fundamental in the current research due to the fact that having figured out the exact outcomes along with the respective probabilities of positivie and negative outcomes of this treatment will appear more than beneficial for the children diagnosed with autism. Moreover, it will offer their parents a solid and predictable scenario of the outcomes of their child’s treatment, making them more eager to use the ABA approach.
Recommendation: Designing a set of personalized scenarios for treatment. In order to make the ABA-based treatment more personalized and therefore more effective and efficient, it is necessary to conduct the preliminary tests in order to analyze the status of a child diagnosed with autism and define a corresponding therapy based upon these tests and in accordance with the scenarios of therapy’s outcomes along with the respective progress of the child.
Recommendation: Prioritize the parents’ participation in the ABA-based treatment of their children. Due to the fact that the parents’ role in the overall treatment has been defined as fundamental in overall success of the program. Correspondingly, it is worth considering teaching parents the exact ABA-based practices for them to implement in their relationships with their children and avoid using further consultations from therapists.
Conclusions
Summarizing everything that has been mentioned above, it is necessary concluding that the approach of Applied Behavior Analysis in treating the children diagnosed with autism has theoretically and practically proved beneficial and resulted in significant improvement of emotional and intellectual status of the children. In addition, this therapy appeared to be the most effective in its attempt to socialize the children and make them effective and adequate member of civilized society.
However, it is also worth reminding that significant differences remain actual for the application of ABA based therapies when addressing issues that appear to come before the actual diagnosis with ASD in children. Furthermore, the results of the ABA therapies are still unclear in their probabilities and chances of patients’ progress and mental recovery. In other words, it is necessary highlighting that the ABA-based practices have not been reported as hazardous or worsening the mental status of the ASD-dagnosed children, still the probabilities of success of such therapy remain uncertain and leave an impression of rather a lottery than a scientifically-based medical treatment. The studies tend to report different probabilities of positive outcomes of the therapy in different conditions. Furthermore, the results tend to differ significantly from one country to another: for example the same sample group in a European country receiving the same treatment may respond to the treatment differently in comparison with the same sample group receiving treatment in the US.
Nevertheless, it is necessary to state that the benefits of ABA-based treatment have been proved both practically and clinically by the related researches. For example, there has been reported a significant improvement in IQ development of the children receiving the treatment according to ABA approach. Furthermore, their emotional and social status has become also more adequate and corresponding to the healthy children of their age. In addition, the research has illustrated the importance of childrens’ parents following the procedures of ABA-treatment. Moreover, the direct parents’ intervention into the process of treatment according to ABA approach significantly improves the status of their children, even in comparison to the clinical evidence showing no parents’ participation in the treatment of their children.
Therefore, it is worth drawing a conclusion that the treatment according to ABA has proved itself as the most perspective and most beneficial in treating the autism disorder in children along with removing the first symptoms of the future disorder. Still, the aforementioned recommendations have also been drawn in order to improve the results of the analyzed studies and provide a strong theoretic background towards the future researches and studies related to the questions of ASD and treatment according to the principles of ABA.
Thus, future researches are required in this particular field of study, which will potentially improve the exact outcomes of the treatment, will figure out the probabilities of positive and neutral responses towards the treatment and will prioritize the parents’ participation in the overall treatment. In this regard, it would be also more than valuable that the information of treating the autistic children could be available for every parent for him/her to follow the corresponding instruction and make his/her child mentally, emotionally and socially healthier.
