The airline industry is has become intensely competitive in the recent past. Competitive prices and the improved customer care service have seen some of the stake holders in this industry rise while others fall. Increased activity in the industry has witnessed many new airlines establish all over the world. Despite the increased air travel, not all of them survive in the first two years let alone return profits. Marketing makes all the difference to whether the airline will be a success or a failure.
Egypt’s newly established airline, Nesma has defied this forces and placed itself as a competent travelling partner in parts of Africa, Asia, and Europe. Its first charter flight was in 2010 and it has been a success all through. The first winning factor of this airline was the market niche. The investors seem to have done their market research to understand of the gap left in the tourism air industry. To reduce the hustle of tourists while travelling, the airline has established its operations in the popular tourist’s destination linking them to Europe and Asia.
Nesma airline has also embraced the new technology and incorporated it into the airlines operational activities. Apart from online bookings, the airline has interacted with its customers in the social websites like Facebook and twitter. The rapid response to customers’ grievances and comments has left the customers highly satisfied. This can be attributed to the satisfied returning customers.
The airline has embarked on marketing practices that reach the target customers. They include online and televised adverts. In addition, Nesma airline has employed the top employees in the industry making the company reliable enough to join the ranks of long term competitive airlines in the region.
Marketing can be dubbed as the heart of the economy regardless of the industry in discussion. It is therefore a very important subject in higher learning institutions. My admission in the Bachelor of Business Administration program will equip me with the skills necessary to have an edge in the intensely competitive yet rewarding industry.
