In addition to those guidelines for life that my parents blessed me with, I know that continuing education is the key to a successful career, which is why I want to take this Masters Course in Public Health. My choice is also motivated by my wanting to improve health conditions in communities that do not have access to adequate health care. I believe I am ideally qualified for the program, not only because I am dedicated, hard-working and passionate about helping communities, but also because I understand the economic and infrastructural processes required to accomplish sustainable change. This program will allow me to relate to professionals who share my goals at both colleague and faculty levels.
My long-term goal is teaching public health in my home country and to serve as a coordinator for public health projects. I am truly amazed at the medical resources available in the U.S. and profoundly appreciate the opportunity to come here, to observe, study and learn, so that I can one day return to help my people. In my view, Public Health is a most important aspect of medicine, and can help prevent and resolve health issues like no other field.
As for my academic background, I graduated from Umm Al Qura University in 2010 and completed my internship in 2011. I am fluent in English and Arabic, and have extensive computer skills including Microsoft Office, SPSS Statistics, and can design websites and graphics, etc. I am a good communicator and team player, and have demonstrated my leadership and organizational abilities in organizing symposia and scientific courses. I am currently a teaching assistant in obstetrics and gynecology at King Abdulaziz University, with a full sponsored scholarship as well as a fellowship in a sub-specialty of interest.
