It will reflect this with the definitions of ascribed status and achieved status. Throughout this paper, it will show why this is important.
Drinking is a profitable business. There one side of the media that trying to enforce people to pay attention more to the danger.; then there is the other side that makes it looks the solution to all life problems or a great night.
There are many things that society brings. The one that it brings that will never change is jealousy and range of other emotions. Most of society is focus on the material aspect of looking good. This is where the dangers of drinking play.
There are those people who grow up with a broken home, and they have a strong want to achieve the status. They need to feel for themselves that they can do something, and they are worthy. Drinking warns of the dangers. The article states the materials that a person can get from this alcohol company can be alluring to encourage drinking. In the article of, “Top 10 Naughty Alcoholic Ads”, the advertisements are adult graphic and should not be seen by an individual under age.
This type of ads, the alluring advertisements, is another cause of the danger that it brings. The ascribed status and achieved status can be lured in both of these caterogeis. A prime example of this is classical literature Gatsby by Fitzgerald. Gatsby was not born with achieved status. Gatsby was an illegal businessperson in bootlegging which earned his achieved status. Gatsby was in control which is why he example of achieved status.
Also, Gatsby was known to throw elaborate parties, everyone wanted to be there. This is where ascribed status is for regardless of individual birth place or inheritance, the party had the lure to bring prosperity.
Then there was Daisy in Gatsby that was born in a good home, yet did not achieve status by herself. It was all through her husband. She was a unique character.
This example of Gatsby was chosen for it splendid story that shows again ascribed status and achieved status. No person can replace the creative writing style of Fitzgerald; the next think to do is to talk about the masterpiece.
Alcoholic adverting makes countless money. Again, it provides the illusion of a happy life. Sadly, that is not the case. There needs to be an increase with advertisement regarding the hazards of drinking. Again, this will be one of the critical concerns affecting our society.
Again, drinking will always remain looking good; while at the same time be dangerous. Some people call alcoholic the Devil Cup, poison, etc for how it has destroyed individual’s life and their family.
Drinking is not the best course of action for certain people. People have to be educated with the risks when drinking. People need to be aware that drinking is not a fantasy of escape. It can be a road to a nightmare of horrors.
