Moreover, each gender gets often acclimatized to its planet’s custom and society, neglecting those of the opposite sex. The cited difference is prominent in communication styles between men and women. Illustratively, men frequently complain that upon providing solutions to distinct problems that women often bring up during a conversation, women often give it less concern (Wood, 2002). The suggested men often keep to themselves, thereby, not communicating about it. Typically, men often consider having a retreat with friends, therefore, not focusing on the issue at hand. The spent time assists men to distant themselves from the cited problem whilst relaxing. The mentioned relaxation allows men to re-examine the problem at hand with a new perspective altogether. However, the mentioned retreat gets never comprehended by myriad women (Wood, 2002). Contrarily, when women gets regularly stressed, often, they prefer talking about sharing with someone close concerning it. Even if the communication does not offer a solution to the matter at hand, women do mind. The mentioned example results in a communication conflict, where the woman strives to get closer while the man seemingly retreats. The highlighted gender gap in communication can get bridged accordingly. Men ought to support and embrace the natural cycle. Additionally, men should not feel threatened by it and instead reassure, attend to, listen to and understand the women.
Prevalently, different cultures in a team affect team performance. For instance, cultural diversity increases barriers towards the convergence of a team. Additionally, the mentioned diversity heightens the forces of divergence. Through a high divergent forces coupled with increased barriers of convergence, team performance gets adversely affected. Social interaction among individuals of the team with different cultures gets hindered (Triandis, 2000). Prevalently, interaction among members is often a prerequisite for team performance. Additionally, beliefs of different cultures of cause conflict among team. Worth mentioning, an individual’s ignorance about the culture of a teammate would often result into unnecessary conflicts. Truly performance will be at stake due to conflicts. Conversely, diversity in culture promotes innovation and creativity among teams, thereby, enhancing team building and performance.
Incorporation of individuals with diverse cultures in a team is essential. Through mutual understanding coupled self-accommodation, a person with diverse culture can be incorporated in a team. Additionally, tolerance and patience with an individual would be vital to incorporating the person in a team. By establishing effective and efficient communication channels, accommodating individual with a diverse culture would be achievable. Reasonably, communication breakdown would be significantly minimized (Basadur & Head, 2001). Also, through the recognition and appreciation of the cultural difference of an individual, it would be easy to incorporate a person. The suggested would limit team conflict while enhancing team building and innovation. Preferably, it would be essential to incorporate an individual with diverse culture to ensure effective team performance and success. Therefore, cultural diversities ought to be respected.
