Introduction
This paper focuses on analyzing MGM Resorts International, which happens to be one of the most successful companies in the hospitality business. The company offers services such as gaming, entertainment and other hospitality services. It is based in Nevada, Michigan and Mississippi among many other areas in the United States (Ken n.p).
MGM Resorts International Leadership
The leadership of the company is dedicated on ensuring happiness and satisfaction to both its internal and external customers. There are various ways through which the company leadership is unique as compared to other companies in the same industry. For instance, the leadership of the company is more focused on promoting teamwork among the employees. It is ever committed to ensuring that its employees work as a team. It encourages open exchange of ideas among all its employees and encourages consensus as a way making decisions. Also, the company allows all its employees to air out their opinions and suggestions thus fostering efficiency in the company.
Additionally, MGM Resorts international leadership is centralized to all the units of the company. This is to mean that every unit of the company plays a great role in determining the future of the organization. It allows all the units to play a part in planning for the future of the company. Consequently, the company is able to come up with innovative ways of improving its products and services something that has helped to enhance competitiveness in the market as compared to other companies in the industry.
Finally, the management of the organization is ever focused on ensuring growth and development of its teams. Training is one strategy that the leadership of the company uses to foster employee development. Besides, the leadership of the company is also committed to ensuring all the employees are engaged in the company’s activities and inspires them to foster improvement of their services. The leadership is also committed to ensuring proper motivation of employees not to mention the provision of a conducive working environment. It is worth noting that these factors play a great role in ensuring the leadership of the company is different from those of the other companies in the industry.

As a result, the company is ever dedicated to ensuring that its employees are ever satisfied and motivated. Its employees concentrate on fostering productivity in the company since they know that their effort in the company’s success is properly compensated.
Besides, the company uses training as a tool for promoting the service delivery. It is worth noting that the company trains its employees continuously to ensure that they acquire better knowledge and skills for promoting quality in their services. Training acts as a motivation to the employees since it is part of career growth and development. Training helps the employees improve their knowledge and skills in their profession thus able to develop career-wise.
Finally, the company encourages proper communication among the employees as one way of ensuring motivation to its employees. It allows its employees to provide their views about how the company can improve its services to foster success. This is to mean that the employees take part in the decision-making of the company. It helps the employees to feel respected and recognized by the company’s management hence able to work hard towards promoting efficiency for the company.

Customer service is the most important thing that the company focuses on as a way of enhancing success in its operations. For instance, the company is constantly dedicated to receiving feedback from its external customers. It has various lines of communication such as U.S Mail, phone, telephone, and emails. It encourages its external customers always to provide a feedback and experiences regarding the company’s service towards them. The company uses this information to strengthen its weakness and promote better services for the customers.
Besides, MGM also provides its customers with high-quality services that ensure there satisfaction. The company is ever focused on offering quality entertainment and luxury facilities that are exceptional in the industry. All its products and services are dynamic hence able to address the changing needs of its external customers. The company always determines the changes in the preferences of its customer and thus able to respond immediately. The company is ever consistent in responding to the changing needs of its customers. It improves its products and services all through to ensure that they match with the changing world environment.
Proper communication is an important tool that the company promotes quality service to its customers. The company allows its customers to use its website to request for any service they require. Besides, it offers information regarding its products and services through its website. Advancement in technology has helped the company, to enhance the quality of its products and services. For instance, customers can buy its products and request for any service via the company’s website. This is to mean that customers do not need to move to the company to order the services. It can also book services from the company via online services (Burrow 198).
How to apply the Knowledge Learned in the Book
This book has provided me with enough knowledge and skills of enhancing efficiency in the workplace to foster success. Through the book, I have understood the need to offer quality service to the customers. Customers are the most important clients of the business whose preferences need to be responded to without failure. They require proper treatment in all areas of the business to ensure their satisfaction. Their needs are ever changing and so should be the services from the company. Besides, I have learned the need to foster social welfare to the employees in the workplace. I have understood the role of the employees in enhancing productivity in an organization. The study impels me always to address the needs of the employees as a leader of an organization. Also, it encourages me to provide a conducive working environment in the workplace to promote success. Employees require constant motivation to ensure their satisfaction. Satisfied employees work towards ensuring the success of the organization.
Service Management
Service management emanates from supply chain management and refers to the connection existing between sales of the company and its customers. The purpose of service management is to promote service in the supply chain management. It calls for bulky inventories and very tight integration with the field operations. Besides, it looks for best ways to minimize the inconsistency and uncertainty in demand through enhancing the smooth flow of products and providing more information. Davidow (233) reveals that through service management, a company can realize some benefits. First, service management plays a great role in promoting the quality service to the customers. It does through controlling the number of products to fit the required demand. Besides, service management leads to reduced service costs since it integrates the service to the customers with the products supply chain. Therefore, it is worth noting that this type of management focuses on promoting efficiency leading to lower costs of organizational operations.
