Discussion on Readings:
Crusades resulted to continuous conflicts , leaders such as Alexius in the first crusade were eager to impress the western leaders by staging attacks on the Asia inhabitants where they killed anyone they came across regardless of religion (Paine 17). The crusades led to collaboration between leaders in search of power and dominance. The westerners were impressed by the gesture that Alexius showed (Paine 18). The first crusade led to the expansion of the European boundaries. In this view crusades led to rivalry and fights between states with the urge to acquire dominance. Christians and the Muslims became rivals and fought to conquer the rival states.
During the first crusade were Urban II addressed a huge crowd in the city of Clermont, he mobilized people who would fight for the deliberation of the church of God in Jerusalem (Paine 15). He made the western European to stop their manipulation and exploitation of the underprivileged in the Eurasia. Their feudal societies were dissolved making its people free to begin new lives. The western monarchs became stronger and feudalism was abolished.
Trade was initiated through these crusades. The trade enhanced the lives of both the Western Europe and dwellers from the east from the trading activities that had emerged. Crusades had an impact on the two territories for the western European was able to gain skills on construction (Paine 36). Western Europe was seen as a state full of hatred and always manipulative to those of the east, distrust reigned.
