The current marketing structure in businesses has evolved into a model that uses technology to determine what interests their customers the most. Hence, there is a lot of analysis that is being undertaken by organizations to determine the purchase behavior of their target clientele. A lot of research has been conducted into consumer buying behavior. One such study concerning the mindset that influences consumer behavior was undertaken by Goldsmith, Xu, and Dhar, which showed that the varying mindests of every individual mindset affects what and how they shop. An intrigiug concept into the evolution of consumer behavior in relation to the mindset are the two mindset types exhibited by consumers. They are the concrete and abstratc mindset. The concrete mindset applies to consumers who consider the details in the products, while the abstract one takes a broader perspective of the product. Under the concrete mindset, Gagliardi illustrates this consumer behavior by touching on health. Consumer behavior has evolved to touch on the very details that touch on their wellbeing. As such, the customers have become more health specific; thus, unlike in the past where the brand and asthetic attributes were more importnt. The current consumer behavior exhibits health knowledge and mindset that has forced food producing and selling businesses to provide products that provide nutritional value and boost the health of the consumers. The behavior has also produced a sustainability behavior that shows that consumers are willing to pay more for healthy products even though their economic ability may not be enough for them to comfortably purchase the products. Such a trend shows that consumers have developed a healthy mindset that hinders them from buying products that have little or no health benefits to them. Gagliardi notes that the mindset of the current consumer is to utilize the nutritional value of the product to control and take care of their health. Hence, they are buying organic and natural products as compared to the inorganic ones.
