Writing is an art that people use to express their views or voice on issues or stories that they would like to share with the rest. It is an innate talent that most people have not explored or exploited and many a times it goes unnoticed. The culture of writing can be nurtured in many ways so as to help those who cannot speak out to voice their views in pen and paper, giving others a chance to listen to them.
Firstly, for one to be able to nurture this talent they have to know what kind of a writer they are. Through my writing experience, in high school, I learnt of my strengths, as a writer, in creative writing. My best works used to be in fiction writing which enhanced my creativity and in depth perspective to writing as a whole. I hadn’t embraced writing wholesomely, so most of what I wrote was not to my level best. To change this I adopted an everyday writing attitude which has since improved my writing into more sufficiently satisfying works. Essay writing has been helpful to me in adopting the everyday writing attitude.
It is important to have knowledge of the content you are writing on because it helps you articulate your points in a chronological order. Through reading, I have gained information about these topics and thus I no longer grapple with the facts but portray them better in my essays. I have also learnt of how it is important for us to adopt clean green energy so as to be able to protect the ozone layer and thus curb the global warming which has caused rise in global temperatures as well as increasing the frequency and intensities of hurricanes.
In order to appeal to my readers I have used persuasive writings so as to engage my readers in to more critical thinking. I have employed the use of facts and provision of examples to make a logical appeal to my readers by reasoning with them through the facts articulated. In order to make this logical appeal work, I have to outline my points first before I put them down as it is the best way to start writing. Using the outline helps me to keep to my strategy of appealing to my readers.
Every writer, whether good or bad, has their own strengths. My strengths in writing are creativity, passion for writing and honesty. This makes it easy for me to tackles writing on creative essays or persuasive writing. I am confident of my abilities to be perspective and objective in my writing because I maintain a level-headed approach to every piece I work on. I have to also shun any signs of binge writing so as to sustain and improve on my writing.
In conclusion I allude with Barbara Kingsolver statement that says, “Don’t try to figure out what other people want to hear from you; figure out what you have to say. It’s the one and only thing you have to offer.” This is because if you keep telling people what they want to hear instead of what you want to express then they will never know your mind but rather think that you are of the same line of thought as they do.
