God created all things visible, invisible, including all spiritual beings. God’s work of creation was good, both physically and morally. God blessed creation with all his loving-kindness. God has given responsibilities to all the living beings as a care taker of earth. Out of all creations the human begins is the dominant creation in the earth. The human begins framed a certain rules by themselves and they strict to that rules. Even they don’t know whether the framed rules are morally correct. “To Err is Human” (Alexander Pope) one should not punish someone too hard for his or her mistakes, because every human make mistakes. Even some tribunal punishes people by giving death penalty without thinking about morality. The creator is having the only right to end one’s life. The person itself doesn’t have right to end his or her life.
The rules framed by the humans is not unique it is varying from place to place, certain things are consider as a justice in one place and the same things are consider as injustice in some other place. The person who framed rules may or may not consider the moral rights. It is completely depends on one’s view on moral rights. We can’t say all the rules are morally good, because as we see in our day today life some of the framed rules itself becomes immoral or injustice. Let we take an example “child marriage” was consider as a moral right in earlier centuries, but now child marriage was consider as a crime. The Rules framed by humans are not stable in nature.
In some of the countries death penalty was abolished from their framed laws, but some countries allows for sentencing death penalty, so if a person murdered someone in the death penalty abolished country will not be executed at the same time if a person he or she murdered someone may be executed in the country which allows death penalty. Bringing one’s life to end was completely in the hands of creator not in the hands of ordinary human beings.
The motto of punishing a person is to make him a morally responsible person. After getting a punishment a person should learn about good or bad, punished person should know which is good and which is bad. The motto of punishment should not end one’s life; by ending his or her life doesn’t going to change entire society. Making mistakes is a human nature it cannot be changed or removed, so sentencing death penalty to a person doesn’t going to change entire society. The punishment should change one’s behavior towards good things.
“Goodness is to attempt to benefit everyone; evil is to attempt to harm any innocent one” (Principle of Goodness) is a good moral quote which explains that if a person makes mistakes doesn’t make him morally corrupt, his or her situation or environment may be forcing him to do so. The punishment should make a person in to a follower of moral values, but death penalty doesn’t teaches anything and doesn’t going to change the entire society against crime.
One should consider the entire family of death penalty sentenced person. We should deeply think how much of them are going to get affected by giving death penalty to a person, whether the punishment given is moral? Most of the moral principles tell us that punishing a people should bring some good changes in his or her remaining life.
Some of the countries abolished death penalty, so remaining countries should deeply think on some moral principles and they should also consider in abolishing death penalty. Harming a person is an immoral and criminals will be punished by the creator, as an ordinary human being we don’t have right to end one’s life. The God given us wonderful life; enjoy it and don’t harm anyone, so then you will be loved by the creator.
