Have you ever heard that only in India approximately one thousand of children die because of polluted water that leads to fatal illnesses (Facts.randomhistory.com)?! Actually, Earth is extremely polluted, and it’s getting worth every year. It is caused by increasing of producing too much stuff due to major customer requirements. New technologies creation, building of many plants and fabrics, rapid development of various industries and throwing away garbage lead to the fact that our planet will never be, as centuries ago. Nevertheless, we can do many of things to save our Earth. O ne of these things is recycling of stuff that we do not use anymore. Recycling is producing new products from the old ones. (Www2.epa.gov)
Earth pollution is a problem number one in the world nowadays. Many countries are doing their best to decrease bad influence of the human actions and to look for new appropriate solutions to enhance the global situation. Of course, we cannot leave without innovations in the era of technologies. It means usage of new products that are produced on the new plants, corporations and fabrics. At the same time, we should think and take care of our planet every day, every hour and even every minute, because its recourses are not recovered. Due to deterioration of our ecology, health of people is getting worth, because many illnesses are becoming younger. There are even many new diseases, than centuries ago that caused by completely different environment. Also, everybody knows that many animals and plants have already disappeared and continue disappearing. According to Conservation.Org “Every 20 minutes, another species is pushed to extinction” (Conservation.Org).
Certainly, there are many reasons of having such a bad situation in the world. First of all, it’s irresponsible and light-minded behavior of mankind. Not all people think, before they throw away unnecessary things or used materials to the garbage. But the situation is worth, when people throw away something just on the street, on the ground (not into the bin). Isn’t it incredible that it takes hundreds and even thousands of years to decompose for some stuff? For example, aluminum cans will biodegrade during up to 500 years, plastic garbage – up to 800 years and glass – up to one million years (Facts.randomhistory.com). The next reason is water pollution. I could not even imaging that fish can change sex because of pollution. It is found in British rivers. Everybody knows that oceans, rivers, ponds are extremely dirty with garbage that is dumped into there. (Facts.randomhistory.com) The third reason of the global problem is air pollution. Here are just some shocking facts: Chernobyl nuclear accident in Ukraine, chemical waste in Russia, smog in England, acid rain in China and Germany, carbon creation by cars in Pakistan and other industries provoke death, illnesses and diseases as well as bad environmental situation in the world (Facts.randomhistory.com). The streets and roads are overfull of cars. Its amount is increasing every day that leads to the air pollution by exhaust fluid. Older car models harm our environment more, than the new ones.
The solution of the global problem is recycling. There should be lessons at kindergartens, at schools, at the universities and institutes related to this issue in every single country. Parents should explain and teach their children how to recycle, what and why. For instance, we can minimize disafforestation by recycling paper instead. If you recycle approximately one ton of paper, it will lead to “a 64% energy savings, a 58% water savings, and 60 pounds less of air pollution! Out of every $10 spent buying things; $1 (10%) goes for packaging that is thrown away. Packaging represents about 65% of household trash” (Recycling Fun Facts).
As you see, all innovations, technologies, plants, fabrics are urged to make our life easier, more comfortable, but at the same time they extremely pollute our Earth. Nevertheless, people do think about tomorrow and build more recycling plants, organize new communities and companies that implement such recycling programs with stimulation to recycle more and more. Some of the organizations even pay money or implement benefit programs encouraging people to save the planet. According to Mnn.com, people should do three important things, such as reducing, reusing and recycling in order to use our planet resources less and to minimize the damage that people induce by their actions (Mnn.com). There are the following advantages of recycling, such as saving the energy, trees and water, reducing of the wasted materials at landfills and incinerators, avoidance of water, air and land pollution, creation and opening new vacancies in the recycling sphere (Www2.epa.gov). I am going to finish my presentation with some sad figures. It is shocking huge amount of children in the whole world, who die due to drinking polluted water. They are 15 million children under five years old (Facts.randomhistory.com). I do encourage you to pay more attention to what we are doing and make efforts to recycle as more as possible, and not allow pollution destroy our planet!
